Can someone who really knows comment on the true difference between these and the "regular" Callaway clubs that are significantly more expensive (heck, some drivers alone are about the same price as this entire set)? Thanks

If you are in need of clubs and don't want to break the bank, get them. One of the top YouTube golf channels did a review of them that was quite favorable.

If your even asking this question, believe me these will be good enough for you and spending any more or less won't make an ounce of difference to your game.

This is a great deal. Definitely more forgiving clubs out there but this is a great price. Also, check out the Callaway golf preowned website for some other great deals although this will be hard to beat.

Great set if you are starting out or a weekend warrior who doesn't want to break the bank. Forgiving, solid quality for the price point but keep your expectations in-line with how much you're paying.

Personally, I would opt for pricing together a used set, but that involves research and waiting for good deals to pop up. This is a super solid set of clubs if you are just ready to get out there, but you can def find better deals on slightly used.

If you want to try out golf for the very first time, I recommend renting a set or purchasing a cheaper used set than investing $500 in this new set. Afterwards, if you are still interested, I would invest the savings to get lessons to start off in the right direction. Then get fitted at a local proshop, because everyone's physique is a little different. It will let you know if you need graphite or steel shaft for your irons based on your swing speed, longer or standard length based on your height and arm reach, stronger or weaker loft based on your swing style.

Alternatively, if you are okay with investing $500 on a new sport from the beginning, this looks to be a very good value for this standard set from a very reputable vendor with excellent return policy. It will also save you time from having to shop around piece by piece.

Thumb up for good golf deals.

Less tech. Let's say the driver for example. Pretty sure it doesn't have Jailbreak or Flash Face, two of Callaway's newer technologies designed to let you hit the ball further, reduce backspin, or straighten your ball flight. You're also not getting any adjustability since there are no loft sleeves or movable weights. There's also the fact that they all come with the same shaft flex (regular I assume), so if you're strong and have a higher swing speed, they may not fit well and you'll have higher dispersion. I havent researched this set in particular but this generally applies to all starter combo sets.

That being said, I totally agree with one of the previous posters who said if you don't know the difference, then these are good enough for you to start. Extremely good value, would cost 2k ish to piece together something like this with their higher end equipment.

This set usually goes on sale after the holidays for around $350 range. At least that has been the case with my local Costco.

Hmm. Never seen that before.
I'll keep a closer eye on it this time.

If you read the review. One user stated he/she got $100 off during Black Friday. Since we're so close, I'll be watching.

As others have said the used market is the way to go at easily more than half the cost of this set. Thrift shops or garage sales especially in housing addition on or near golf courses. You will find clubs easily in the last 5-year tech range but do your homework and know what to look for.
