I was actually using this exact one last weekend to repair landscape light wiring (solder seal connecters and heat wrap). For this price I highly recommend it.

Can it be used for burning sugar for creme brulee? No, honest question.

I need a heat gun and was thinking of picking up one at Harbor Freight the next time I drive by. With a coupon it's only $8.99 if anyone is interested.

Extremely unlikely, this can get to 1000 degrees F, a typical creme brulee torch is 2500+ degrees F

Good question. I think it should as you can broil creme brûlée at 500F but probably not as fast as the temperature of a butane flame is 2,600 F or more than double what this gun should do. There's also the potential toxicity aspect as this was not meant to be for foods.

You're welcome Smilie

I had bought a B&D at HD a couple of weeks ago for about $9 more. I've ordered up this one and will return the B&D...additional nozzles and save a few bucks (no cost to get it delivered to me!). Win-win Wink

Are you sure that's not 1500 Watts? Different than 1500 degrees.

I have this and just used it this weekend to heat up the silicone along my shower doors to make it easier to peel. Three years with moderate use, no issues. Did have an incident with a cloth being too close while I was using it and it started to singe and burnt a hole through it.

ordered one . thanks op.

The Harbor Freight one has a 90 day warranty and doesnt have any of those attachments. So if it breaks in 90 days youre going to end up getting another one w/o having those attachments. For those who is considering one or the other. l
