(By "sophisticated mopping capabilities," I mean an electronic water tank that is controlled by the app, allowing you to create the things like "no mop zones." For those features, but the S5 Max, on sale for about $80 more than this deal.)
If you have only hardwood floors, or only very tight outdoor-style rugs, or only a small 1-level home, then there are cheaper models than this (like the S4 or E4) that may suit your needs.
I have no desire for mopping, but I bought this S6 Pure last time it was at this price because it made it cheaper than the S4 Max. I just never installed the mop. It's been awesome. Highly recommend Roborock.
1. You need to use the Mi Home app. The Roborock app wasn't working (at least for me).
2. Your wifi SSID has to be alphanumeric characters only, and you have to connect to the 2.4GHz band, if your router is dual band. If you have a mesh router, it should auto-connect to the 2.4GHz band.
3. You need to give the app precise location permissions (otherwise it wasn't connecting to wifi successfully).
After the setup though, I'm fairly happy with the performance. The app isn't very polished, but it does its job. The LIDAR is definitely nice though, the mapping is fairly accurate in terms of boundaries, and drawing boundaries in the app is usable. Haven't tried the mopping feature and don't intend to.
The hardwood performance on rtings is much better than the Roomba 960, which made me gravitate towards this one, that and the zone mapping feature.

Smart robotic home gives the edge to roomba 960 saying it won't scratch the floor like the s6? Also says roomba cleans edges and corners better? Thanks
I agree Ecovacs CS is junk. They are just polite robots. All they do is quote the manual and could never address my issues.
But I don't have any experience with Roborock support, because my S5 Max has worked flawlessly for me. It just works, unlike the Ecovacs T8+, which is nothing but trouble.
A few notes about mopping though.
- We use a clean mop pad every time. Once it's done, if it just sits between the floor and robot for several hours then it will get a bit musty smelling.
- It's not an amazing "clean up every stain off the floor" kind of mopping, but it does get dust and crumbs (my kids leave crumbs everywhere, so this robot vacuum has been great for us).
- You pretty much don't want to mix a mopping room with vacuuming carpeted rooms or areas. This works for us. We generally just have it vacuum/mop over all tiled areas every night. Whenever the kids' rooms or our room happen to be clean of toys/clothes/etc on the floor, we'll send the robot to vacuum those carpeted rooms (weekly-ish?).
Another random note is about the cliff sensors. If you have rugs or carpet with dark areas (or just dark in general), the robot will think it's about to go over stairs and won't clean that area very well. We have since installed 3D printed sensor covers, and now the robot goes everything just fine. If you don't have stairs to worry about, I'd recommend this if you encounter the same problem.A few notes about mopping though.

To my surprise the MaxV is not much better. The S6 Pure has just as much suction in the normal settings, is a bit more quiet, actually finishes cleaning the house a bit faster and does just as good a job.
The big upgrade (and definitely not worth $200 more) is the electronic tank for mopping. You still pretty much need to remove/add the mop pad manually when you intend to mop even with the MaxV so what I thought would be nice to have this thing ready to mop and scheduled to do so really was not the case.
As for the Pure.
Its very efficient, fast, easy to maintain, has a great app, and I cant really find any flaws, just don't expect much for the mop feature.

And if you leave it attached overnight or whatever all the moisture in the pad is sure to just sit on your floor (that is why there is a plastic sheet that goes on the floor included) I would not trust turning this on mop mode with a dry pad attached, and if you really do not want any water on a no mop area I would not trust just turning the water off in a no mop zone from getting some water on that area, nor would I really want the mop pad being dragged across the carpet or other area anyways.
Maybe just maybe it lifts up the pad? that I do not know the S6 Pure didn't and I do not think the MaxV does, but that would be a smart feature.
We have a small apt (800sq ft) with 100% tile except one low pile runner that we can do by hand if needed. We have a dog and definitely need a mop feature, but will probably run it through the whole apt pretty frequently so it wont be anything terribly stuck on / tough to pick up.
Don't need no mop zones but would like a decent mop feature overall - with all the info seems like S6Pure makes the most sense?
The pad makes me nervous - they always seem like you're just dragging the gunk around. I had wanted something that suctioned like the crosswave we have now and didn't use any pads at all but see now that isn't happening
Thanks!
I'm also considering the 360 S5 [amazon.com] at$250 right now. Better specs and quite cheaper but maybe not as highly rated.

Yes, you can vacuum only and not mop. If there's no mop pad attached, the vacuum knows it can't mop and won't try to. When I put the pad on and tell the vacuum to go, it says something like "mop pad attached, please ensure water tank is filled"
I think the S6 mop may be gravity-fed vs a tank where the rate can controlled... but I don't think there would be a big difference between the two. I would guess both would work just about equally for mopping.
