(By "sophisticated mopping capabilities," I mean an electronic water tank that is controlled by the app, allowing you to create the things like "no mop zones." For those features, but the S5 Max, on sale for about $80 more than this deal.)
If you have only hardwood floors, or only very tight outdoor-style rugs, or only a small 1-level home, then there are cheaper models than this (like the S4 or E4) that may suit your needs.
I have no desire for mopping, but I bought this S6 Pure last time it was at this price because it made it cheaper than the S4 Max. I just never installed the mop. It's been awesome. Highly recommend Roborock.
1. You need to use the Mi Home app. The Roborock app wasn't working (at least for me).
2. Your wifi SSID has to be alphanumeric characters only, and you have to connect to the 2.4GHz band, if your router is dual band. If you have a mesh router, it should auto-connect to the 2.4GHz band.
3. You need to give the app precise location permissions (otherwise it wasn't connecting to wifi successfully).
After the setup though, I'm fairly happy with the performance. The app isn't very polished, but it does its job. The LIDAR is definitely nice though, the mapping is fairly accurate in terms of boundaries, and drawing boundaries in the app is usable. Haven't tried the mopping feature and don't intend to.
The hardwood performance on rtings is much better than the Roomba 960, which made me gravitate towards this one, that and the zone mapping feature.

I think the regular S6 has no mop zone now, does that essentially make it the same as S5 max?
Yes, you can vacuum only and not mop. If there's no mop pad attached, the vacuum knows it can't mop and won't try to. When I put the pad on and tell the vacuum to go, it says something like "mop pad attached, please ensure water tank is filled"
I think the S6 mop may be gravity-fed vs a tank where the rate can controlled... but I don't think there would be a big difference between the two. I would guess both would work just about equally for mopping.

LOL I wish.
It creates and remembers up to 4 maps, without having to ever move the dock to the other floor.
So you carry the robot to the 2nd floor, drop it on a starting point, and it creates the map that you can then divide into rooms, create invisible walls, no-go zones, etc.
Now any time you want to clean on that floor, you change to map to floor #2, drop the robot at that starting point, and it figures out where it is. You can now do spot cleaning, selective room cleaning, etc., and it returns back to that spot as if that was the dock.
Testing looks amazing but when it was mapping other room with rug it just kept going back and forth so I don't know if that normal due to first time and mapping or not

If you don't want mopping and bin(smaller area and who can empty the bin weekly) I think costco's deal is better especially with lifetime warranty for vacuums.
Go ahead with this roborock if you need ($90 more and 1 year warranty)
1. No go zones
2. Multi room mapping
3. Mopping

No it does not. You can return it used.

Because if you have 100% tile floors everywhere, then you wouldn't need sophisticated mopping controls with things like no-mop zones. So you could save money and get the S6 Pure, where the mop is simply on or off.
