As much as I would like to agree with you... I have found the cheaper alternatives to wear out a lot quicker. My current band has lasted me 3 years and it still looks new. The velcro hasn't worn out, and the fabric still looks new. I wear this watch every day

I was skeptical of these bands after getting my first Apple Watch. The prices are a bit much. I bought multiple cheaper bands first. I found that I was always readjusting or fidgeting with the watch.

I bought this exact band two months ago at the same price. I'll never go with a cheap band again. The band is comfortable. It doesn't move around. I haven't even thought about switching bands since putting it on.

Best Buy also has a few colors for $29 and lower for open-box if you want to roll the dice. I snagged an "open box excellent" one for $19.

I like Apple Watch but these extra ordinarily expensive bands whether fabric or steel are beyond my understanding. I don't get that. !!

I have to agree. These are way overpriced coming from Apple. I haven't even noticed the quality to be that far superior than the second-hand options you can get for much cheaper.

Hard to recommend this as a buy, buts it's a good deal.

I was considering a pretty 3rd party knockoff of an Apple band for my wife when I purchased her an Apple Watch at Best Buy. Read the reviews and many comments about the band coming apart in use and the watch dropping off arm. So I purchased a real Apple band which happen to be on sale. When you spend $400 for the watch you don't want to have it damaged because of a cheap band. So check reviews carefully before buying a watch band.

My experience with steel band is a bit different. I bought a generic steel loop one from Amazon for about $10. It's been two years and it works just great, color is now starting to fade a bit. I haven't used the $99 Milanese loop Apple sells, but at almost 10x price nothing can justify that especially when generic ones are reasonably good quality. If Apple was selling that for $30-40 I could try one out but a $99 band for a $400 watch is a bit too much !!
