I mean, most boards will control 3 pin fans too. This reviews shows it to cool well and to be middle of the pack with the fans connected to the motherboard.
It would have made a *lot* more sense to give a couple 3 pin splitters in the box though. 4 fan headers on the motherboard is certainly not a given on budget motherboards but this is clearly a budget case. What is included is a 4 3-pin fan connection to one Molex connection to power them all at full speed. Which is kinda crazy, as that means you have to have Molex from your PSU to make that work and they'll run at full speed.
Hmm, I think it would be pretty trivial to step that done to 7V by tinkering with the connector and maybe that wouldn't be bad at all...
Yes, 3-pin is controllable depending on the board. I just keep splitters for both types. Don't put too many watts on one fan header.
I'd like to see a dust filter option though.
