If youre going to do ATT just get the ATT prepaid 8gb/yr plan. It costs $254/yr after target 10% off on refill and 5% disc with redcard. You wont get deprioritized to the least. My latency was through the roof with redpocket in bay area so any google assistant query wasnt immediate which is so annoying
Just a warning to all, STAY AWAY FROM REDPOCKET. They are con artists who promise unlimited talk and text but will suspend you over 1500-2000 minutes of usage and sometimes tech support will re-activate you and mostly they will tell you to buy add on minutes to continue using. No term were broken (they audited my account and admitted as much, but they said there is no limit but to protect their network they cannot give you too many minutes) so in fact their unlimited = Limited. I had paypal get involved in all three of our lines and won all the cases. They played dirty like responding to the case the last second.

You may think that 1500-2000 minutes is enough for you. But think, what if you have a loved one in a hospital meaning more usage and no one can reach you. They don't send any warning texts they just cut you off in middle of a conversation. I hope one day thee FCC sues them and screw them for millions like they did to tracfone a few years ago.

unlimited everything is not really unlimited. they will block text services if you use group SMS and I've read scenarios where they block voice around 2000 minutes (this I've not experienced though).

will this work with existing user? also why not just use mintmobile is a lot cheaper
So long as it is the same plan, you can do so by following the steps provided below:
On eBay, SIM Type > drop-down > select renewal/existing sim

How do you get the code for a renewal? is it sent via email or is there actually something that has to be received in the mail?
Code is messaged through eBay/emailed (aka use tax free state as shipping address)

I had been a Red Pocket user on the Verizon network for several years. No problems and the few times I needed to contact customer service they were always helpful, no complaints. However I purchased a brand new unlocked S10e and was not able to successfully activate it on their network. I worked with several different reps until one finally said they are having issues with some of the newer phones, and said I could switch to the GSM networks but I do not have good service for those where I live. I don't know if anyone else has run into this problem. Thankfully my year plan was expiring the end of this month anyway, and I switched to Verizon prepaid and the new phone is working great. Red pocket definently offers a great price, but just know you may run into an issue with purchasing a new phone.

Mint Mobile uses T-Mobile. Their service is crap where I live and frequently loses calls/messages into a black hole.

What if I want to "upgrade" to this plan? Just wait until the last day of my previous plan, and then activate this?

Using Redpocket, you can select the carrier. Att/Tmobile/Verizon.

For few att/Verizon network may works better.

Forgive this very basic question. Does using this truly give the same cellphone experience as postpaid accounts? There must be a tradeoff, what is it? My questions assume an independently purchased unlocked phone is available.

I've returned past redpocket purchase on ebay beyond 30 days (while within 90 days) after the return button disappeared on my ebay order. Redpocket website CSR told me to contact their customer service via ebay message and they were able to refund within a few days. YMMV of course but it was possible a few months ago

Minit mobile has current 3month+3month = $60 dollor for 8G. I see the "Renew/Existing SIM". Thanks
There was talk Mint was going to have buy 6 months get 6 free. But I believe that's horse hockey and too good to be true. (I'm still going to wait to see if they bring anything else to the table over the holidays as I don't need new plan till mid Jan)
