If youre going to do ATT just get the ATT prepaid 8gb/yr plan. It costs $254/yr after target 10% off on refill and 5% disc with redcard. You wont get deprioritized to the least. My latency was through the roof with redpocket in bay area so any google assistant query wasnt immediate which is so annoying
Just a warning to all, STAY AWAY FROM REDPOCKET. They are con artists who promise unlimited talk and text but will suspend you over 1500-2000 minutes of usage and sometimes tech support will re-activate you and mostly they will tell you to buy add on minutes to continue using. No term were broken (they audited my account and admitted as much, but they said there is no limit but to protect their network they cannot give you too many minutes) so in fact their unlimited = Limited. I had paypal get involved in all three of our lines and won all the cases. They played dirty like responding to the case the last second.

You may think that 1500-2000 minutes is enough for you. But think, what if you have a loved one in a hospital meaning more usage and no one can reach you. They don't send any warning texts they just cut you off in middle of a conversation. I hope one day thee FCC sues them and screw them for millions like they did to tracfone a few years ago.

Redpocket = Scampocket

What does this quote from the Wiki mean "Free international calling to 80+ countries and $10 credit for countries not included." ?

These countries [redpocket.com] are free, no extra charge, only deduct your minutes. Countries not on that list are charged by minute. They're giving your $10 to call countries not on that list.

Be aware that this is a YMMV service, and customer support is better described as customer delay. I've been working with them for more than a year to get my account straight. The most recent adventure took 3 hours on chat to get adjustments made to my account this weekend, and then the next day the updates mysteriously were removed. The changes took a year's service off of 2 of my lines.
I say mysteriously because none of the changes appeared in the event history other than one line showing that I had properly applied the code to add a year. No emails/texts were sent indicating my service had been downgraded.

So I've been on chat with their non-support team for the last hour once again trying to get it straightened out with Carolyn who could not solve my issue, and could not escalate to a supervisor even though I asked for one within the first minute of the session. Instead they are pushing me into an email support scenario with the following "Please wait it will be sent within the day and you may reply to that email if you have further questions."

If you get it working, the service can be ok. But they frequently change the rules related to things like tethering, which phones support which functions like MMS, and other items you'll read about on this thread.

Ultimately I'm bound to them by my frugalities, and the need for the Verizon towers in the vastness of the midwest. So we keep one line in the household on a standard Verizon plan as a backup for our 4 redpocket lines while traveling.

The fact that these are 360 day plans rather than 365 day plans lets you know the type of shop you're dealing with. Just go into it eyes wide open and ask yourself, do you feel lucky in 2020?

I have been using Red Pocket for 2 years for 4 family members and have had no issues. There is a limit of 3 per buyer but last year I was able to buy in 2 transactions of 3 and 1.
Today I bought 3 and when I try to buy 1 more in a separate transaction it says "This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired."

Any pointers on how this can be overcome?

Sounds good but I don't see anything about the $10 credit on Ebay or the Redpocket site.

Anyone buy their renewal and receive it yet? I bought over an hour ago using a DE address but havent gotten any email/ebay message. Hoping to confirm the no-sales-tax-state thing works.

I've been on redpocket for a year along with 3 others from my family. On an iPhone 7 (AT&T) and newer, we've been able to group text without issues. Unfortunately, can't say the same for my father who is on an iPhone 6. Finally planning to upgrade him this Christmas. We'll renew with this cycle for another year. I'm a little annoyed to see the price go up with slightly more data that we don't need.
In Los Angeles I've had some minor issues with spotty service, but not bad enough to change. My parents had a problem on a trip to Wyoming, which I expected considering they were in the boonies.

for those of you saying mint is better company. does mint also have tax charges? im on tmobile prepaid right now and i just buy cards to refill, so no tax. but its 30$ a month so would like to maybe switch to mint for cheaper cost.. but if they charge tax the difference becomes smaller.
