i saw on the website "*If line is canceled, voluntarily or involuntarily, or device payments are accelerated, the remaining credits associated with device payments are lost."

can I unlock the phone and replace with an old phone and continue the service?

You cannot unlock the device because you have to pay it off to get the unlock. If you accelerate the payments to qualify for the unlock, you lose the credits.

Xfinity just upped me to 7 lines so I ported in 2 lines and have to figure out what to do with 2 locked iPhones, but free is hard to pass up. ( I will likely use them on other lines and unlock those devices not subject to the credits.)

Where are you getting all those phone numbers?

You can get google voice numbers to port in. I believe you just pay like $3 to be able to port it out of Google voice.

Edit: cost is $3 to port number out of Google voice.

In this case, Device might be locked for the period of contract. I did what you said as I paid in full for 7 plus and they approved my device unlock request.
