Should work for existing customers. Buying this you'll get a promo code you can input on the website.
From my experience, when you redeem the promo, it'll immediately overwrite your existing plan and replace it with this, so if you still have a lot of days left on your current plan and don't want to waste the money you paid for it, I would wait til your current plan is just about to end before applying this.
Eg. I still have 20 days left on my plan. I redeem this code, and now it says 360 days left (the 20 days I had before are thrown out with no refund).

I don't have time to dig up the link, but IIRC, last time Red Pocket Rep on this site confirmed that:
  • If it is the same exact plan (same carrier, same number of minutes & text & data), then it will extend
  • if anything is not the same, it will replace the current plan

Very casual observation: BF tends to have better/predictable deals than other times of the year.

normally a black friday/christmas-ish type sale. I've seen it pop up in june though

I just purchased for 1 month trial so I will not hurry about existing plan
