Kobalt 319-Piece (SAE) and Metric Mechanics Tool Set Is being clearances out in some local stores. This item is unavailable for purchase online. For $71.55 or any price under $80 dollars should you need a set like this or for someone as a gift or for your self is a pretty solid deal even though it has many filler items (175) the price comes out to be $0.22 cents per item. I have seen other prices like $74.30 as high up as $159 which is the regular price.

Good luck and Happy Monday!

Item #1616116 Model #81333

I saw this set on sale for $100, I still went for the BF sale toolbox as this one has more bits than I have ever seen in one of these sets.

"Other tools include 40 hex keys, 12 nut driver insert bits and 122 screwdriver insert bits"

It's a great deal if this is what you are looking for.

So. Much. Filler.

$83 near me. Despite the filler, I might be coerced into buying for the OP price, but $91 out the door for me. Probably worth it to me to dole the extra $$20ish for a set with less filler.

TU for the OP though. Thanks.

Meh... if you need everything in it, probably decent deal. However, most people don't need 75% of this stuff since its mostly fillers.

Just like most people don't need 75% of the stuff they own.

BS shows $72.11 for me. Still seems over priced for a bunch of bits. Maybe it will go lower. Will keep checking! Thanks OP

I wouldn't recommend this set for anyone. I got a crazy deal on the 227 Piece for less than $40 and truthfully- after unpacking it, I'm glad it's a gift/started set. It's far better than this set, and still only worth what I paid. Several of the sockets are almost unreadable as brand new. They are far worse than Husky, and I'm not a Husky fan either, after seeing their quality. Save your money and get something of better quality. It's worth it in the long run.

Yes, now if your words just could convince myself I have too much stuff I'd be getting somewhere.

In that weird stage of life trying to know if I should still be accumulating or moving towards Swedish death cleaning. Yes, that's a real thing and there's a book on it. If I remember correctly, there's a Swedish custom where in their 60's they start paring down on possessions. Idea is in case they kick, less trouble for relatives to go through.

Used to be a tool snob, buying only top tier tools. Then read that tools are one of the things people vastly overestimate their use of. Something like the average tool is used less than 3 hours a YEAR. When I really thought about it I found that true for almost every tool.

If you're a contractor or big time handyman by all means buy top quality. For the rest of us, good enough will likely do.

If all you want is sockets, then buy a socket set instead of complaining that a mechanic's set includes tools that you don't want.
