I've been using a TPLink AC1750 for years now and it has worked reliably.

But I am making this post to remind people that buying a router on price only is dangerous. The no/low-name brands can cause you much trouble as this article describes:

How is tp link firmware? I can no longer log into my linksys router, I get stuck on a waiting screen that is apparently a firmware bug according to forum posts.

I've had no problem with mine, though my model is old and no longer updated.

Waiting for something on the deco x60 two pack. Does anyone know how the x60 dual band wifi 6 compares to the orbi rbk50 which is triband but wifi 5. The deco is $269. Orbi $299 give or take.

I will be using T-Mobile home internet soon. What would be a good router to pair with it? I don't game, only stream and surf.

Also, these routers with the external antennas, can one antenna be removed and replaced with a yagi antenna mounted on the outside eave, pointing out towards my back yard to improve coverage there?

Thanks

How does AC1750 hold up? I've got a crappy old router and recently got fios 200mbps so looking for an upgrade. Not sure if I should look at wifi 6 options or something like what you mentioned or AC1900, etc.

So many choices for mesh WiFi. I'm just going to note that the Deco M5 system has only AC1300 while the Deco M9 currently on sale at Costco for $20 more is AC2200. Probably worth the extra $.

Just went from Linksys to TP-link about a month ago. AX-3000, around $125 from Target. Works well. Don't need the extenders to cover my home/office anymore. Buffers occasionally. Run a bit warm, at around 100°. Haven't had to reboot yet. Wifi 6 coming on all my new devices. Good product.

Was looking at the AX1800, too. $100 is a good price.

U probably need a mesh router setup and ideally one that's triband if you're not running cable for back haul between main router and the satellites. Costco has the Tplink Deco M9 3pack ok sale for $169 now.

Asus RT-AX82U, RT-AX86U, or RT-AX88U
I just bought a Linksys AX6000 for $170 from Best Buy. But if I could spend $250, I would have bought an Asus RT-AX88U
