Yes, it states which ones are for the iPad/Kindle. After you have the base, the games are interchangeable. It's really only the base that needs to be for the specific device! I have a 4yo and 6yo and I got them some for Christmas too!

Starter kit means it comes with the iPad or Fire base. They also sell kits that just have the games.
