Not deal-related but...

I have Lenovo Premium Care. My laptop got more broken after I sent it in twice. It's been 74 days since I got in touch with Premium Care. For a computer company, their computers at Premium Care are broken for days at a time. Apparently the reason for not being able to help me and etc.

Don't make my mistake.
Don't buy Premium Care.
Actually, don't buy Lenovo, if you think there's a probability of any problem with whatever you are buying from Lenovo.

RAM and storage should not be an issue, but you will be limited by the 310w max power supply for any GPU upgrades.

Could you upgrade the psu ? And upgrade the gpu? Or is this limited to only ram and storage upgrades?

I do not know if you can upgrade the PSU, but you should be able to upgrade the CPU to any of the CPU's listed on the spec sheet. But if you are wanting a larger PSU to have a better video card, you are probably just better off buying a different system with a larger PSU and better graphics, or build one yourself.

I built one with similar basic specs with better parts (+512 Evo NVMe, 600W power) at about $650 last year. It would be a great deal last year but not sure in year 2020. Saying this, the spec should be enough to run most of the games at high FPS. But the system started dragging a bit for CoD. Upgrading the CPU and RAM may give it a bit more life. So, check the upgradability before you buy.

I have 4 Lenovo laptops in my family. I buy ThinkPads because of the great keyboards, minimal bloatware, and outstanding depot extended warranty service. The communication leaves much to be desired. You don't always know the status of your repair, but they always fix any issues no-questions-asked and almost always turn things around quickly. Once when a laptop got stuck there waiting for a part for more than a week, I complained, and they just sent me back a brand new laptop instead (newer model). So my experience with their depot warranty service has been great.

I buy extended warranties for absolutely NOTHING except Lenovo laptops.

Is this overkill for a business PC? My wife is using an aging, underpowered Dell that probably needs an upgrade.

The graphics card is definitely an overkill for a business PC. But, who says you ONLY work on a business PC? If you want to watch an HD video and doing some photo editing, you will appreciate the graphics card.

I would say, you can't "over do it" when it comes to technology. And the devices in this one are good, but yes are 2-3yrs aged already. Even the latest/greatest will be out-done in 6months! lol Will tell you, for business use, the Ryzen cpu's are much more efficient for sure.

But, I'm using an old Dell XPS 8500 (8+ yrs old), but I've changed out the: PSU, have 32gb of RAM, better GPU and added an mSATA (yes that old) and SSD for storage. So basically gutted it, but still have the original case, cpu (intel i7-3770), and mobo (and it's quiet!) ... So you CAN upgrade the Dell's, at least the XPS series anyway. This thing still works for my work needs.

you SHOULD be able to upgrade but that case looks proprietary ... meaning probably not going to be able to get one off the shelf, probably special from Lenovo if such a thing exists, unless you want to 'shoe-horn' in a replacement....ive seen this on dell before, not fun, and sometimes dell pc not even right motherboard connector....so beware.

otherwise this looks like a good runner up for spec vs price...im looking for a friend. I'm a bit leary of the cooling potential for this pc
