not bad but the nikon stuff isnt too slick/discounted
I agree. I wanted to get the D850 but they stated it is exempt from the no-tax promotion. Anyway, most Nikon stuffs are on sale but it will be slicker with the no-tax promo.
B&H EDU together with the payboo can yield some amazing savings. My edu status with B&H is about to expire so I have like 18 items in my cart right now that I'm thinking of buying before I lose it. My total without EDU and payboo is $1711. My total with EDU and the payboo card is $1215.

If you're a student, you can sign-up for educational discounts with B&H. They verify your student status with your .edu email through Unidays (and Unidays has a database of active enrolled students, I guess). The discounts vary from like 10% to I believe somewhere around 50%. The higher percent-off items are usually for smaller dollar value items like mounting hardware and such. The most valuable discounts I've encountered are Sony cameras. I was able to get a Sony a7S III on preorder for $3,162 with the edu discount and payboo card. Would have been about $3772 without those. Not everything gets a edu discount though.

Payboo is one of B&H's store credit cards that discounts the sales tax at checkout. When I signed up for it, I was instantly approved and the card was automatically assigned to my account which meant I could use it right away. You have to be careful with this card and make sure to pay it off completely every month though. I believe the interest rate is somewhere around 30% or so.
