Bought one of these about a month ago. The treble on this thing, out of the box, is terrible. Bass is great. Changed the EQ on my iPhone to boost the treble though, and it sounds pretty good now. Wouldn't recommend without a way to boost the treble.

I have 2 studio 3's from SD, they are pretty nice just as a FYI, battery doesn't last forever but they sound amazing.

I use my single studio 3 via Bluetooth from my daughter's laptop to it so she can actually hear the class for this whole school from home. He has the best audio setup out of all the kids.

I got this during the last deal and, after using it for the last few days, it lives up to the hype. I have a Veho M10 I've tried to compare it to side by side. They have different sound profiles and it is impossible for me to pick a winner. I've switched back and forth with them over and over again and they both just sound amazing in their own ways with every genre of music. I got the Veho M10 from a freak deal through Circuit City's website for $40 on clearance about a year ago and my biggest regret is that I didn't order more than one. The lowest I've seen them go for since then is $100 so I got a screaming good deal on it.
This HK speaker is just really really good. If you have the money and can justify $100 for a speaker of this form factor (more of a stationary, bookshelf speaker than anything you would travel with), it doesn't disappoint. I highly recommend it and it would make a great gift for the holidays.

Google Home Max will probably win out easily. However, they are very different animals since the Google Home Max is a stationary-only speaker and not portable at all. This speaker is still amazing and every bit worth $100. The Google Home Max is designed to be a powerhouse and handle every music genre with clean precision. The Onyx Studio 4 can do the same with music versatility but it's limited in power and depth by it's portable size and form factor. It's almost apples to oranges. Either way you go, you won't be disappointed.

I've honestly wondered if I should have gone with the Google Home Max. Because I use Google Assistant everything, I have Chromecast audio and Chromecast enabled speakers everywhere in my home. To get ahold of another Google Chromecast audio to use on my Onyx Studio 4, will cost me another $50 on eBay. At that point, I've spent the same that I would on the Google Home Max. I don't plan to move the Onyx around often at all but I think I settled on this form factor purely for the option to be able to. If you are looking for a purely stationary speaker with the best sound possible AND the added benefit of having Google Assistant integration, I think you have definitely made the right decision

The Google home max is HUGE. Totally not portable. At all.
