These are non-4k and do not come with a remote. The new Google chromecast TV is best option at $50
Depends. This can only do 1080p and doesn't have a remote with user interface. You'd need another device (i.e. smartphone or computer) to control your media. I would not get this personally because the 4K Firestick and 4K capable Roku stick are roughly only $10 more and offer better performance. The main benefit of this vs those two options is the option to stream videos from a Chrome browser to your TV, which is nice for when you're streaming something online on your computer but want to watch it on your TV without having to deal with cables. If that's something you really want then this is a cool device for that, but if you're patient, I'd suggest waiting to see if the Chromecast with Google TV goes on sale. It can stream 4K and comes with a remote and Android OS, so you can download a lot of different apps.
Some reviews say it disconnects a lot... btw no free shipping @ Walmart unless over $35... and Google adds $10 fee for shipping+taxes

Not active yet but the Home Depot flyer is also advertising the same price for Black Friday.

How are these? I have 2 firesticks that I got on sale about a year ago and 1 old Roku. The roku is still better than the firesticks despite being maybe 4 years older.

Chromecast is better for mirroring IMO but roku sticks are always a must keep item for travel bags

Is the Chromecast + Google TV worth the extra $20? Are the apps worth the increased price?

Try selling it or keep extra for older TVs. I use it on non-4k non smart TV. I got gen 3 ultras last year but planning to upgrade to chromecast google tv

The aforementioned Google Chromecast TV will be on sale for 39.99 on Black Friday. I'd opt for this if you 1) don't care about 4k or 2) it's for an alternate room.

For those citing shipping as an issue - wait for BestBuy or Target to go live with it, or do what I did and price match with Target.
