These are non-4k and do not come with a remote. The new Google chromecast TV is best option at $50

Depends. This can only do 1080p and doesn't have a remote with user interface. You'd need another device (i.e. smartphone or computer) to control your media. I would not get this personally because the 4K Firestick and 4K capable Roku stick are roughly only $10 more and offer better performance. The main benefit of this vs those two options is the option to stream videos from a Chrome browser to your TV, which is nice for when you're streaming something online on your computer but want to watch it on your TV without having to deal with cables. If that's something you really want then this is a cool device for that, but if you're patient, I'd suggest waiting to see if the Chromecast with Google TV goes on sale. It can stream 4K and comes with a remote and Android OS, so you can download a lot of different apps.

The aforementioned Google Chromecast TV will be on sale for 39.99 on Black Friday. I'd opt for this if you 1) don't care about 4k or 2) it's for an alternate room.

For those citing shipping as an issue - wait for BestBuy or Target to go live with it, or do what I did and price match with Target.

The chromecast is not really the same as a roku or firestick. It's for casting, which some people do with all their shows, but I wouldn't want to. If you like the interface of what you have, and using the remotes that came with those devices rather than using your phone to control, you probably wouldn't use this much. But if you just like to tinker with new gadgets, you might as well get one. Otherwise, put the money toward a Roku Ultra to upgrade what you've got. They're great (and so is the remote) and they usually go on sale at a good price this time of year.

Added: Or if you want a cheap deal on a different model with a remote, check the posts below about getting the Netflix + chromecast w/google TV where it works out to $11 or so to get one if you want the netflix subscription. I imagine you'll still prefer the roku, but you may have fun trying it out.

If you subscribe to Netflix anyway, there's a deal that includes 6 months of netflix and the chromecast with google tv. It's $90 plus tax, I think it worked out to costing me a little more than $11 over what I would've paid for 6 months of Netflix alone. I probably won't use it much, but at that price I'll take one just to try it out.

Edited: I originally said it only cost a little over $1 more than I would've paid for Netflix alone, but forgot that was after the $10 credit google gave me because my order was delayed. I canceled the original one and reordered using the credit.

These are good only for casting, because it doesn't have a remote they suck bad, you have use your phone to do anything.
