outside the US however the technology and design has evolved to the point that you can buy stuff like crocs for $5, the designs also make crocs look like a pile of old cow $h\t. all one needs to do is search "vinyl acetate shoes or vinyl acetate flip flop or EVA flip flop [aliexpress.com]" outside US and see for themselves.
so as long as the patent is here, americans are getting screwed big time by paying 10x more for something that people outside US would never put on their feet because they don't have to put up with monopoly.
