Wow, $11 cheaper than the last deal. Didn't think these would get even lower.
The only thing I don't like about these is that they really clean your ears good - no matter what I do, I'm pulling out wax every time I use it.
Whatever, I love how isolating and accurate they are. Good amount of bass - I was scared that it would be anemic since the non XR model is lacking a bit in the lows and I'm just glad the XR model exists and how tasteful the bass is.
Okay, I just surrendered. These are supposed to be awesome. They better be...
The ER4SR are the more neutral/studio monitor/correct tuning, whereas the ER4XR have a lift in the bass and the table making them sound a bit more lively and engaging. I'm getting the ER4XRa.
Have had ER4-XR model for a few years. At this price they're a steal. They have about 42dB of noise isolation, which realistically is on par or better than most noise cancellation headphones. They're basically ear plugs. Really, really good sounding ear plugs. 😂 I've worn these (and the ER4p predecessor) on planes for the last ten years or so, and they get rid of a lot of noise there as well. Highly recommend. The primary downside for me is they don't offer cables with a microphone, which would be really helpful for video calls.
Thanks for costing me more money. Haha. I've been an etymotic fan for years. They're some of the most neutral/natural sounding headphones I've used. And I have some EE Zeus XRA's. I had ER4PT's for mixing and on stage, then bought some hf3's for everyday use. Bought some er4sr's when they came out. Kind of wished I had got the xr version. Well now I'll have them too.
I caved in too, and bought the ER4XS. I had the er6 then er4p many years ago and they were great. Very transparent, much less muddy sounding than shure e535 (haven't heard the 846, too rich for my blood lol).
I do wonder if the sound is identical to the old ER4S, because this newer model has 45ohm impedance whereas the original model has 100ohm. But a this price, I can just resell and recover most of the cost if I don't like!
I've never tried in-ears.
How is the sound signature? I know it's supposed to be neutral but do you think this will work for someone who hates the sibilance of DT770 Pro and is fine with the HD 650 but don't like the bloated mid-bass? I've checked the frequency response graph but am still not sure about it. Hopefully, someone can chime in.
Thanks in advance!

The er4sr and the er4xr have really good treble, no sibilance .Some pepole do not like the treble of them as they do not boost it . Beyerdynamic boost the treble by a lot inclouding the dt 770,880 and many other .

Thanks! I really can't stand the boosted treble.
Any experience with HD650 or HD600? I'd like to know how these compare to them.
