FYI -

Looks like Hikvision OEM, older models iirc

Do check past threads on SDs, we're seen these a few times recently iirc.

Bullets look similar to older models I picked up from Swann ( 8MP 1/1.25" 15fps ) for about $65 iirc

FYI -

Warning this youtube reviewer in past reviews failed to address the pixel density and FOV issues when comparing cameras.

Still worth while to see his review and see how he evaluates the cameras. Just do not fully trust his reviews, his methodology is flawed.

Hi focal length chart is here
https://youtu.be/WXD82epDPE4?t=54

His FOV chart is here, and he rates based on wider FOV ( which results in shorter ID distance )
https://youtu.be/WXD82epDPE4?t=145

As he notes, the math gets complex

The issue is that it is significantly misleading to compare the cameras which have vastly different FOVs / focal lengths at the same distance for text images.

Just from simple math, the pixel density will vary vastly and thus the text image capture results.

Thus the following table and review is not a good one for evaluation of cameras
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W...e=youtu.be

same with all other reviews based on the same distance away from the cameras.
https://youtu.be/WXD82epDPE4?t=380

Due to these issues, his total scoring is misleading. You should NOT use it. Instead decide what range you want to ID someone and pick a camera that can do that for that range. Remember, you may need a lot more cameras than you expected.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W...e=youtu.be

Bottom lines:
  • There's a lot of complexity that gets into evaluating cameras.
  • These Annke models are Hikvision OEM models, not the newest.
  • Newer models which have larger sensors should do better in low light conditions.
  • Remember to update the cameras to the newer firmware.
  • Most people like the turret models more, they are harder for an attacker to knock off their angles.
  • Dome cameras have issues outdoors, especially over time as UV and heat degrade the dome / foam components.
  • Wider FOV - shorter ID distance ( less pixel density at the end of your driveway )
  • I would happy pick these instead of the Reolink 8MP models, as these meet standard specs better ( ONVIF, rstp,.. )
  • I would happy pick the turret if I was concerned about it getting hit. ( metal case, will stand up better to a blow than the bullet )
  • For better low light performance I would look at newer 1/1.8" sensor models, or even the 5MP Amcrest.

ID distance table, theoretical here ( you can also see the cliffnotes DORI section at ipcamtalk for the equation so you can calculate the pixel density )

Here is this camera on Amazon. Helpful first review there: https://www.amazon.com/ANNKE-Secu...op?ie=UTF8

Seems like a good deal for a reliable well-reviewed camera. Temped to go this route and then add a nve on my own. My sense is that this would probably be priced as well or better than most package deals but higher quality. Welcome feedback on that idea.

Was trying to get to a point where you add the coupon and it just skipped right past everything with Apple Pay?

I did another order with a regular credit card and it let me put the code in. BEWARE USING APPLE PAY ON THIS SITE

Hopefully they let me cancel the other order.

Great info here

These cameras can be upgraded using Hikvision's own firmware, model DS-2CD2383G0-I, which you can find on Hikvision's website. ( see the Review for more info )

I so wish this was matched at Amazon Prime. I want the free returns if I don't like the cameras.

Thanks for the details, which PoE camera do you recommend? Moving into new home and i put just 2 PoE connections. Maybe i will have to use non-PoE cameras in addition to get more coverage.

By the way this particular camera does not have option to store the videos? Don't see any description if it supports memory card slot or if it stores in the cloud..

These types of POE cameras usually require a device such as a dedicated computer, NVR or NAS to record the video along with a PoE injector to provide the power. I'd also like to know which cameras the user recommends.

Do you agree with him that Hikvision is better than Dahua? Do I care about advanced features if I'm using Blue Iris only?

With price only being part of my decision, I'm considering these. I was going to pull the trigger soon on the comparable Amcrest model, but now I'm debating. With quality being my main concern, which would you choose?

I'm a simple man. If I get a camera that says 4k, I expect 4 resolution. Unfortunately, they take that spec and turn it arbitrary with crap compression before transmitting.

Ordering multiple cameras lowers the price (slightly). Also, no tax when ordering from Annke.com makes this deal even better!
