It is true that without Cam Plus you would be without the human detection AI. However, the motion detection is still there (although the notification can get slow). If a human being is moving around, the motion detection picks it up. If you do not mind your pets triggering the alert on occasion, you can get away without the human detection.
For me, the main attractiveness of Cam Plus is its ability to keep recording on a cloud without the cooldown periods. The human detection is just an added benefit to me. A microSD card? Yes, all of our Wyze cams have the mSD cards, but if any of the cameras were stolen, you would only get those 12-second clips with a cooldown as "evidence." Cam Plus makes me feel more secure as a backup records keeper. Just saying.
But they probably do.

Agree with others, UX is a bit confusing for creating a new account. Still waiting for the codes to order the cams.
Note that the subscriptions apparently starts immediately after the order with no grace period. So if it takes a couple of weeks to get my cams, I'll probably call customer service ask for an extra free month to compensate for shipping delay. Most likely they will give it.
* They start the 12 months right away.
* You will get an invoice for the 12 months with an account credit for 3 months that you could use later.
* The coupons for the V3's took me about 15-20 minutes to get.
* The cameras are on backorder until January (they say pre-order, but they're already launched).
Still a good deal if you want CamPlus, but a little strange promo. You would almost be better off ordering one normally do use your credit right away vs. waiting until next year.
