Apple has a similar deal for example $350 trade-in value for iPhone 11 + $150 Trade-in credit from Tmobile ($500 total) VS you get $374 from this deal and the phone is $100 cheaper than Apple Store. So Apple deal is $26 better than this?
Not to mention that you can buy $500 Apple Store gift cards from Best Buy or Target and earn $100 Target Gift Cards.
According to some Costco guys, T-Mobile really messed up in allocating proper amounts to send to Costco in terms of the pro/pro max models

Yes, I did. I mentioned that in that message as well.
Like in my scenario, I bought $700 worth of Apple Store gift cards from Target total for $552 (after discounts and etc)
Trade in for my iPhone 11 $350 + $150 Tmo credit = $500
Cost of the new iphone 12 pro is $1000 - 552 - 500 = Comes down to $ -52 (Future credit for Target Store)
Total $500 out of my pocket.
If I were to get it from Costco;
$900 for iPhone 12 Pro
$375 Trade-in total $525 Out of pocket.
It's close but Target + Apple Store deal is slightly better, forgot to mention that Apple Store iPhones are factory unlocked.

$450 trade + $200 shop card = $650 from Costco. Pay 2-3 months of service
Vs T-Mobile $830 new line plus trade . 30 months for service
Example if trading xr, apple gives 250, add T-Mobile $150=400 .
Target GC discount if using 11 cards=$220+$44(redcard)=264
Net off =400+264=664$
Edit. Checked apple.com - it's a credit in form of prepaid visa card

Looks like the 24 month T-Mobile bill credits for the 'free' mini when trading the 8 is the best if you are staying with T-Mobile.
I (existing member) buy an iphone 12 for $769.99+tax. Then trade in an iphone 6+ and receive a $194 credit on my bill?...and $256 (450-194) on a virtual express mastercard?
No matter what you trade in on the list, it will be a total of $450 off?

When I checked today for Iphone 7 following is the logic the kiosk representative gave:
For Iphone 7 offer of 270$. But if the phone trade-in value is valued only as $70 then that will be one time bill credit and the reminder $200 will come as virtual pre-paid card.

What's the most cost-effective plan for 1 line only? I can see on their website it's minimum 60 per line per month which would effectively eat $200 for 3-4 month while you have to stay with t-mobile.
Otherwise my mobile payments will be in the range of 50 bucks for the next 3-4 months since I work from home. Basically a loss of $150 here at minimum.
Is there any workaround for this? Can I somehow do $40 prepaid plan?
thanks!
