Pretty good deal. I purchased the same laptop from Best Buy currently on sale for $949 with a 1660ti and a 1TB SSD as the only differences. Paying about $150 more to upgrade to the 2060 (and another $50 to upgrade the storage) is probably worth it to a lot of people, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Not having to spend extra to upgrade the RAM or storage is so nice on a mid-range laptop like this and the 1660ti is more than enough for my needs.

The design of the laptop is fantastic and everything about it feels nice. And the thermals are fantastic. The fans don't get too loud when doing small tasks and are only really noticeable when gaming. My temps never get too high, usually ending up in the 80s while gaming, peaking at close to 100 when I ran some benchmarks (for those who care about benchmarks, the 4800H hit a 1211 single-core and 7961 muilti-core score on Geekbench).

The display is also fantastic, haven't had any noticeable issues. Overall, a solid laptop

Edit: Will add my one real knock on it was that the GPU performance is cut significantly when running on battery. Can't really find a way around it, but as long as you're not planning to do any serious gaming when the laptop isn't plugged in, it shouldn't be an issue.

He might be talking about the Asus ROG laptop for $800 at Best Buy few days ago but that one was also almost sold out immediately.

Not exactly apples and apples. This configuration has twice the ram and storage.

So both are close in price when you compare features to features.
Actually no, the screen is not easily changeable, and that one had a horrible screen. Also, the thermals and the BQ are quite bad compared to HP Omen and Lenovo Legion 5.

Wait, this was $899 2 days ago with the same coupon code. It was OOS within an hour. I don't remember the memory specs but the remaining all were the same. I missed it at that time.

Edit: the one which was at $899 was "OMEN Laptop 15-en0036nr". The current deal is on "OMEN Laptop 15z -en000"

For what it's worth, I bought the same one as you and while i agree with most of what you said, the edge in front of the trackpad is almost a knife. The marks it leaves on my palms last hours ...so not sure I'd recommend it to someone that will be using it without a mouse.

I missed similar comments from the post that triggered my buy.

Haven't had an issue with that at all, but it might just be how I position my hands when using it. Though thanks to you, I'm going to think about that every time I use it now.
