Stopped by Lowe's tonight to check out the new pit boss 1100 pro series. Walked around and saw pellets with yellow clearance tag. I asked the worker and he said both flavors are on clearance for $5.99.

Sorry to be clueless, but what grills are these for? Charcoal grills? Or gas grills? Or smokers?

It's the fuel used in pellet smokers. They're small pieces of processed wood that are burned to make smoke and heat similar to that in a classic wood smoker. There's a small electric heater in the pellet grill that ignites the fuel, and an auger feeds the wood pellets to it based on temperature (typically). Hope this helps a little.

The Pit Boss Competition Blend mentioned by Puzzlebobble are my go to. Nice mild flavor. I haven't tried the others mentioned.

Is it me or were there not too many deals on grill fuel this year. Remember last year there were tons of deals on charcoal over the Summer. Picked up a bunch of bags that I just finished using.
