Set the power button and other options to hibernate instead of sleep. The laptop has a weird issue where the fans sometime spin up to max when waking up from sleep. I imagine Asus will fix it soon.

Thanks for heads up, that alone is a deal breaker for me
Please. That's ridiculous. These are built well, weigh 2.6lb, mostly metal frame, and have a modest dedicated video card. Anything under $600 is a decent deal for this.

I have seen this laptop in person at BB. It got one of the best screen out there in $600 something. Open box starts under $400. Metal build, good display, small bezels. If your work is good enough at 8gb ram, or you can work with Linux to manage under 8gb, it's a nice deal

Memory is soldered. M.2 is not.

You can order open-box for ~$400, that should be an excellent deal.

M2 is not meaning you can add more ram? That's my only hangup with this machine

Just picked one up. Used my discover it card to get 5 percent CB. Thanks OP! The inclusion of the gpu makes it less of an issue that memory is soldered as ram won't be shared with gpu. Will also setup memory swap with ssd.

yeah I own this and don't understand why they didn't include usb c charging, the port is basically a usb data port. the charger it comes with sucks, short and needle like connector so if it breaks good luck finding 3rd party option.

if this had usb c charging I would have been more happy with it.

I was pretty set and waiting for this model https://slickdeals.net/f/14490995-lenovo-ideapad-s540-13-3-wqhd-laptop-10th-gen-i5-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-costco-online-only-nov-30-599-99?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

But a zenbook for $500 is giving me second thoughts. I know the build of the zenbook is way better than ideapad and yoga.

How is the AMD Ryzen5 on this zenbook?
