This is a solid deal. Don't be frightened by all the comments on every desktop deal from people that need this component or that component upgraded because they are planning to map the human genome on a $500 desktop. Spoiler alert - They won't.
700W? Seriously, it is not like you are going to install a 750+ dollar graphics board in a machine like this imo. You can get away with 450-500 W with a low power 1660 TI. Less if you drop down to a 1050 Ti. If you want to run high end gaming at max res, then one should not be buying something like this imo and should look to someone like Dell, MSI or IBuyPower for pre-builts for gaming.

My 2 cents.
I was able to pick this up at my local Staples store

here are some pictures

storage: hfm256gdjtni-82a0a https://www.skhynix.com/datasheet..._popup.jsp

Power: 180w

Let me know if I can answer any questions

Just ordered this computer for my mom on Monday and it was ~60 more.... I looked up Staples' price match policy and it says this: "We don't price match competitors' or our own local or special events (e.g., grand opening, anniversary, clearance, timed sales or liquidation sales, "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" sales)."

Does that mean I should buy this one and return the one that's supposed to arrive today?
Yes lmao. Or just call them be like it literally came in today why make me hassle and do all this during covid having to return it and buy a new one. Ask for manager if the rep doesn't give u the change back. Manager will

I couldn't find the relevant info on the memory. I see that it is 4gb x 1 and 8gb x 1. Is one of them soldered?

If I want to run two 1440p (or two 4k) monitors off this, what cheap video card would be a good recommendation? Would I need to upgrade the power supply? This is just for office work - Word and Excel. No gaming. No photoshop. No CAD.

If you're spending the money already, may as well future proof it for a few dollars more. Never know what the power requirements may be in the future. My two cents. Smilie

Biggest question is whether the PSU is standard. a lot times OEMs will use proprietary PSU or PSU connectors to mobo, making upgrades impossible.
Quote from paco :
The review here (of a similar model) takes an internal picture, and it looks standard:

sorry slick deals broke the link just copy and paste
that is not standard. many oems use proprietary for consumer level pcs.

How easy is it to upgrade the graphics card in this? Looking for a cheap desktop for my son to game on.
Quote from AvidBuyer :
Pretty easy, just replace the PSU, since 180W isn't going to cut it.
it's a proprietary power supply so it won't be easy.

Just bought it. Cannot build one for my wife cheaper. 300 bucks for board and chip and memory at micro center and thats a cheaper AMD ryzen 3.

i5 10th generation with SSD ....plus 12 gigs..and windows 10....plus dvd drive...and nice front ports better than my stupid Antec case.

For me...I getting the 700 costco 16 gig with 1660 super. Hey..she just surfs and buys shoes at DSW and watches youtube videos

All you need is a $30-40 power supply and whatever video card you think your son would want. You could probably get something in the $150-200 range and be fine. So total cost would be around $6pp-620 not including a monitor. Not bad all considering the specs. Go AMD if you want more bang for your buck with the video card.

You're not going to get a proprietary PSU upgrade for $30.
