This is a solid deal. Don't be frightened by all the comments on every desktop deal from people that need this component or that component upgraded because they are planning to map the human genome on a $500 desktop. Spoiler alert - They won't.
700W? Seriously, it is not like you are going to install a 750+ dollar graphics board in a machine like this imo. You can get away with 450-500 W with a low power 1660 TI. Less if you drop down to a 1050 Ti. If you want to run high end gaming at max res, then one should not be buying something like this imo and should look to someone like Dell, MSI or IBuyPower for pre-builts for gaming.

My 2 cents.
I was able to pick this up at my local Staples store

here are some pictures

storage: hfm256gdjtni-82a0a https://www.skhynix.com/datasheet..._popup.jsp

Power: 180w

Let me know if I can answer any questions

Dont listen to him. The power supply will work but once tax it will create issues for the power supply.

You kill the computer. Yes, it may work but if you turn up the graphics to high, burn baby brun,

You have a cpu at 65 and a card that will hit 75 when gaming. That is 140 watts leaving a mere 40 watts left. I would contact HP before even considering that.

Simple question to HP will the computer handle a video card with 75 watt power requirement.

They will probably say no since they make a higher power supply for computers with cards like 1650.

Not sure if you'd be interested in trying to limit the GPU power, but I've been doing some reading about people using MSI Afterburner; might not work with all cards, but maybe there is something similar that can do the same thing? I plan to hook up a Kill A Watt to meter the actual wattage used under various loads before I decide on add a GPU.

Yes, there are videos on folks using the Kill a Watt. And yes, MSI afterburner can help.

but me...when I am gaming...I like to be at Warp 9. And yes, you can have the system run less power, but why am I under clocking a video card to keep power limited.

Underclocking is like going to burger king and eating a whopper. I will not feel hungry afterwards but also not satisfied. I rather have a double double at In-and-out or Habit burger made with sour dough bread toasted.. I like to enjoy life not live it under clocked.

Its a great deal. It would have been fantastic if the power supply was standard Atx. It will still play lots of games. The graphics chip is not like the old crappy ones in past desktops. I am sure you can play a host of steam games and battlefield 5

Seems pretty powerful to me.....for 379 you can have fun without spending more. I would add hard drive to load your games.

I like to be in tanks during war games since its harder to kill me.

Has anyone used this system for Blue Iris?
I originally was going to go with HP Ryzen 7 desktop from OD but the Ryzen CPU is running hot under the load (7 4K cams) and I will have to bump the memory (currently maxing out at 8GB) and CPU cooler if I want. to run it long term.
Blue iris is no longer a CPU hog after version 5 released with substreams. Substreams need to be configured, it doesn't happen automatically. You will see your CPU usage drop dramatically. Like from 90% to under 10%. I have one system with 8 h. 265 cameras running at 0%.

I ran Passmark Performance benchmark on the HP TP01-0066 with AMD Ryzen 7 computer from Office Depot and the final score was only 2589. This is interesting as the Ryzen 7 has much higher CPU score than Intel I5 according to Passmark.
Maybe your low score was the result of other parts such as hard drive, memory and lower 2D 3D graphics processing. Additionally this process is much faster than AMD Ryzen 7 4700U.

The hard drive test has a low score, but both systems have similar specs so there shouldn't be much difference. I ordered the unit from Staples so in case I have a similar experience I'll keep the system that performs better.
The OD system https://slickdeals.net/f/14476295-hp-pavilion-desktop-tp01-0066-ryzen-7-3700x-8gb-ddr4-256gb-pcie-ssd-rx-550-2gb-310w-gold-psu-win10h-580-f-s cost me $620 after taxes, To keep it I'd have to add CPU low profile cooler for $50 and RAM for $30 - that puts it almost $300 higher than the Staples one, and if everything checks then the system from Staples should work just fine as configured plus a hard drive which I hope will not make much difference for the power supply.
I think some of my Blue Iris performance issues could be attributed to the lack of support of quick sync which is made by Intel and available only on Intel-based systems which is another argument to go with this unit here.

don't buy this PC if you try to put a fancy graphic card in it, I don't think the power supply can be change to common one
There are some options:

This is a similar system, perhaps that could work to get the power supply to 500W, there are also HPs 310W units that come in this case - model TP01-0066.

something is wrong with your memory score. Your are pulling close to zero score from your memory. Everything else is looking better than my score beside memory and Hard Drive. Here is my score.

CPU: 13026.5
2D: 341.3
3D: 1209.4
Memory: 3214.7
Disk: 12518.9

Try these tweak and re-run benchmark.
Go to BIOS and choose factory default setting.
Change power plane to High Performance.
On system properties change Performance Option to ''Adjust for best performance'''
Run optimize and defragmentation on your hard drive property
Restart and Re-run

Thank you!
There was also one more item that I forgot - Blue Iris was still running as a service holding the resources and since it uses about 7GB of RAM the memory score was so low.

The new score was 4475!

skarb, do you mind letting us know your experience with using this HP Pavilion system as a Blue Iris NVR server? That is exactly what I would like to setup in the next few months. My plan was to get a refurb Dell Optiplex 5xxx or 7xxx on ebay for about $200. Those come with older 5th or 6th generation processors. If this HP system works well, I'll wait for it or a similar system to go on sale again.

Does anyone know if it might be possible to use a usb-c to hdmi adapter to output 4k 60hz on this thing. As I understand it, the USB might have an alternate mode, but I can't get confirmation. And if so, would the audio pass through ok?
I was referring to something like this..
