In for 500! Gonna give some to my coworkers. Its getting bad here and staff is getting sick...if it keeps even one from getting sick its worth it
I really like these masks for good fit and well made. Piece of mind too as these are on FDA list too. I wear these when going into a supermarket, doctors office or visitng elderly family members. I have both the earloop and headband style. Both fit the same, headband fits a little more snug. All masks like this are worthless if you are unable to properly seal it against your face. Many times I can feel air escaping in the nose area near eyes when blowing out hard. The metal nose strip is a bit on the weak side, that is the only negative of this brand. If I work hard at molding the nose area to my face properly, I can always get the perfect fit with a litle patience.
KN95 is still better that your typical cloth mask or those gaiters people keep wearing.

Do you need NIOSH N95's rated for medical use?

Very detailed answer if people reuse cloth masks I don't why the filtration capacity of these would be zero after single use. I typically have been using these for about a week each but cycle one or two. If I go out out I leave it in my car and let any potential virus die until I wear the same one again. Its a psuedo science for sure, if you can even call it that as there's not really any empiricism behind it but hey I guess it's worked out for me so far. I mean medical professionals need not apply my bunk ass logic though
I wouldn't say it's pseudoscience. It's reasoning based on what we do know. There are no guarantees because we have to make informed guesses. We can be pretty confident about decontamination, the harder part is whether the effectiveness of the mask is maintained after use and re-use. Question is not 'does efficacy drop to 0?' but how much does it worsen? How many re-uses is too many? Doing this stuff yourself is obviously a lot of a guessing game, but you can make informed guesses. The two factors that matter are fit (is air going around the mask, how much) and filtration (is the air going through mask getting filtered). Letting the mask chill out for... at least a few days, then making a call about fit and filtration, that's what I do. I'd say this is a little different than cloth masks that are washed and re-used. Honestly if this fits your face well enough that very little air is going around the mask, this is probably far better than a cloth mask, it's a different ball game.

in for 50 masks for $42, they are a little small on my big face but they passed every "blow, sniff and water" test.

Cmon now. For one, these are not N95s. They are NIOSH approved only in an extended sense. I don't think the public really has all that much access to NIOSH N95s, I'm pretty sure there is some availability but I'm sure most honest manufacturers are selling only to certain customers like hospitals.

This is sold to the public and is intended for that. I don't think they would be able to tell them at $1 a pop to the public if hospitals were fighting for this supply. I work at hospitals and I would be happy if these were everywhere. I have little doubt they are better than the masks most people use (so long as fit is OK).
I was asking if they needed masks because I know importers with the masks in LA

any kf94 deals recently? I trust koreans more than mainlanders
Yeah, in general the KN94 certification seems much more reliable than KF95. Unfortunately, not many Kn94 masks are on the FDA list. The only one I'm aware of that's on the list is the Dr. Puri:
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/r...ed-508.pdf

That mask also fared extremely well in the the non-lab testing done by Aaron Collins:

The Dr. Puri is available here (the site looks foreign but the vendor is actually US based):
https://behealthyusa.net/search?t...q=dr.+puri

They have a promo going for free shipping and 20% off (it's on their homepage too):
HOLIDAY20

One interesting choice is a mix and match set that lets you try out the Dr. Puri and a few other well regarded masks like the BOTN and Bluna - both of these have the adjustable earloops. (Note: I wouldn't use any of the choices other than Dr. puri, BOTN, and Bluna.):

If we say that it is "decontaminated," then, the question is, does it still work as intended after re-use? That is a question of fit and filtration. Does it still fit well enough that air is not constantly going around the mask? Does the filtration integrity last? Hard to say. You can get some sense of this yourself. Is it soiled? Is it frayed or destroyed? Is she shape deformed? Etc.
While it's not rigorous, this guy has done some at-home testing on the efficacy or reuse:

...and I agree that given the shortage/price of good masks, rotation is the best strategy for reusing them.

Big thanks and reps to OP and all the other helpful posters! I ordered 10 to see how they fit.

I'm fit tested for N95s. I agree a KN95 doesn't quite feel the same, but I don't know if that means anything. The biggest difference is the flex when you inhale and exhale. I have 3M KN95 respirators with headbands for personal use. To me the seal feels comparable to a 3M 1860 or 8210. I'm curious to see what it's like with ear loops.

Yes masks are proven to help prevent COVID 19.
COVID 21? Can't help you with that yet.

I got a 30 pack of these for black friday. They are great. I got sick last Friday, and have been wearing this mask at home. Nobody else in my family has gotten sick.

I am using the headband style, but my mother feels it is too tight. So I may buy the earband for her to use at work.

Everyone should go get the vaccine once it is out. That will be best protection. Kn95 does not protect you. You need n95 for protection.
A high quality, good fitting KN95 does protect you, and this Powecom one tests very well in the filtration department by the CDC.

I've heard they are great and test way higher than N95. I get mine Monday.
This is clearly the seller trying to pump this deal. Poor English and also giving false information. N95 are the gold standard. These do not have the fit nor the certification to be able to say that they are better than n95s.

Try KF94 masks. It's a life changer.

It's almost impossible to breathe in a KN95 mask for an extended period. KF94 filters just as well, but provides much better breathability.
