My local gyms are all closed. One has even went out of business. Back in March my gym they put a sign on the window telling you to "use their website and workout at home"....yeah, sure. I pay to use $100k in equipment, not do push-ups and run in place in my living room while looking at their corny website.
Luckily my debit card expired that month so they didn't get another penny out of me. Even though I was on a month to month, I get a letter in the mail from a law firm dunning me for the last 6 months of fees. I had to fax them a copy of my contract showing the gym broke the contract by not allowing access. Cacksuckers.

I just ended my membership. Here in nyc, they are not allowed to be opened 24 hrs and most likely be forced close again in the upcoming lockdown.
Likely the same scenario here, my buddy was going to his gym (not PF) and all of a sudden a TON of people started coming because the gym in the next town over is shutdown, he suspended his membership. It'll only be a matter of time with people dogpiling from a shutdown "zone" that they'll bring it there.
I wouldn't pay a dime for this "deal" we're likely going to be dealing with these shutdowns/lockdowns/whatever for at least another 6 months, as a high percentage of people don't trust and won't take the upcoming vaccines.

Honestly, the vaccines won't be widely available for a few more months, so yes, a lot of stuff still closed for at least a few more months

This is a good deal in normal times but beware that Planet Fitness is a franchise & the local owners can be asses.
My area has been a Coronavirus hotspot for months but the local PF franchise wouldn't refund the money I paid upfront & natl PF was useless saying they couldn't help because the local owner made the decisions so I paid $99 last year for something that was useless for 10 months.
