Topping E30 DAC $117 on Drop

Posted last week for $110.49, but you missed that. Smilie

Still much better than the regular $129.99 price.
Additionally, this earns 1755 Drop Rewards Points [drop.com]; enough for a $15 dollar credit towards another purchase on Drop... (obviously only useful if you want something else there)

My personal opinion? A bargain at full price. Yup, I have one. More features and better sound than Khadas Tone board [amazon.com] - ($99.99), except this is complete with chassis and remote, so arguably less expensive (if you want those things... I do)

Don't ask me if it's good, read this [audiosciencereview.com] instead.
(Note you may have to remove an extra "=" from the end of the Audio Science Review link - SlickDeals keeps appending for some reason...)
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Hades? Smilie

SlickDeals alters the link and appends "="
Just delete that from the end of the URL. Should be:
NOT
"https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/topping-e30-dac-review.12119/="

$10 off doesn't work on either dac or amp.

personally I got the S.M.S.L Sanskrit 10th MKII AK4493 HiFi 768KHz 32Bit XMOS USB Native DSD256 Decoder (Black) from Amazon for $109

It for listening to Amazon Music in UltraHD.

Both of these use the AK4493eq DAC chip.

How does the e30 compare to the d10 and d30?

What a waste of money. DACs are a mature technology, the dac in a $200 smartphone is every bit as good as a ridiculously expensive external DAC. Buy an amp instead.
Stopped in to say the same thing. If you 'need' this, you'll buy it... if you're on the fence, don't. Use that cash towards good headphones / amps.

Sorry that wasn't available for you. I thought it would be, I just used $10 off last week on THX 789...

No it is not a waste of money. I hear a considerable difference in sound quality between my headphones plugged into my cellphone vs a dedicated dac and amp desktop combo. But if you can't notice that difference (or don't care for better sound), then yeah don't buy it and save your money.

Wow. Who hurt you? I see at at least two other posts from you in two other threads saying exactly the same thing. I can't imagine what kind of obsession would motivate someone like you to attack any mention of a DAC on a deal forum.

While I disagree completely with your unfounded premise, even if we stipulate that for the sake of argument, I have to ask you the following questions;
Does your reference $200 smartphone include SPDIF In?
Does it include USB in?
Does it come with a remote control so that it may be used as a preamplifier?
Are you willing to leave it sitting on your desk, permanently connected to your amplifier?
How suitable is it for use in a whole house network music streaming solution?
How can it make my Raspberry Pi sound better?

Not really looking forward to your response.
Have a nice day. Smilie

That looks interesting too. I am reading you need to use separate USB power in addition to USB data line for that one to measure well. Do you?

Thanks OP! I bought the L30 amp, waited a day for the points to post, then bought the E30 DAC with the $15 credit applied.

Quite a bargain for that stack. Hope you enjoy it. What will you be driving with it?
