Eh, I'd prefer the design that can be used by left and right handed people, like the old Intellimouse explorer. If they revise this body type then i'll be interested.

Then you would want the Intellimouse Classic.

yours is a IO1.1 (seems not remastered, and the linked one is IO1.0) and op's is a remastered of IE3.0 I think.

Love the old days using IO an IE to play SC and CS.

Though I have told myself multiple times I should not buy any mouse this year, finally I bought one as a Christmas gift for me to sit quietly with my MX518 remastered...

Thanks OP!

microsoft could have been so great in the mouse world because intelimouse was so far ahead of the game. Then they dropped the ball.

Smoking deal. I bought two of these a couple months ago for $30 each and I thought I got good deal back then. So far I loved them. I mainly use them for RTS games, very accurate, adjustable DPI, braided cable, and professional looking with a subtle RGB tail light.

Original intellimouse optical with one button on each side was the best mouse ever, minus the usage wear that eventually resulted in a double click issue
Now unopened ones go for like $80 and knockoffs are cheap but scare me that they could have keyloggers from china on them

Unfortunately had to get this as replacement and the side buttons are not as easy to use as the old one and so I don't end up using them unless I really force myself to which defeats the purpose.

Dpi adjustment is nice but I can't get it to feel the same as the old intellimouse

Fantastic mouse, one of the best for large hands and/or palm grip. I keep coming back to it.

Second the big single button on each side. I found it easier to squeeze or use my ring finger to push the outside button vs repositioning my thumb for more than one button on the inside. Used to have the outside button for voice chat and inside button for melee.

Ran my old Intellimouse until the feet were flat with the plastic housing. Went through some teflon skates on them, too.

Edit: Lots of complaints over on the new ambidextrous mouse variant of the rubber peeling after a few months worth of use. It looks like it would be really, really annoying. Frown

I've used the intellimouse since it launched back in 1999, ive replaced countless switches in them when they get the double click issue, Have a few of the gamers edition and original intellimouse still new in box for when the 3 that i use every day finally die.

They still sell this piece? Props to MS for being the originator, but they got lapped a long time ago.

Size wise this wouldn't be comfortable for smaller hands then? Wife thinks MX518 is already bit larger
