Now unopened ones go for like $80 and knockoffs are cheap but scare me that they could have keyloggers from china on them
Unfortunately had to get this as replacement and the side buttons are not as easy to use as the old one and so I don't end up using them unless I really force myself to which defeats the purpose.
Dpi adjustment is nice but I can't get it to feel the same as the old intellimouse

Ran my old Intellimouse until the feet were flat with the plastic housing. Went through some teflon skates on them, too.
Edit: Lots of complaints over on the new ambidextrous mouse variant of the rubber peeling after a few months worth of use. It looks like it would be really, really annoying.

Size wise this wouldn't be comfortable for smaller hands then? Wife thinks MX518 is already bit larger
