However - someone posted earlier a trick to get it to show up immediately. On the free line you added - go to Manage Add On and change the data to "No Data" and save. Then go back in there and change it back to what it was (mine was changed from Tmobile One to No Data and then back to Tmobile One) and it showed up right away. My bill went back down to what it was before I added the free line and the promo showed up as applied to my account.

that some loyal customers on the frltul2lp never qualify for anything( past 2 free line offers). I mean if you don't want members thats one thing, but I have been a loyal customer over 10 years. How come you can't just migrate customers that want the free line to another plan that is similar in cost? Why is it if I was a new member in September and got an insider hookup code(20 percent off) I could have a Magenta Plus plan with 4 lines (2 free ones) by now and only paying $112 a month and getting netflix. Kind of feel like new customers get a better deal than old customers. We don't even get an option anymore. Tell me why its worth staying with
T-Mobile
at this point?
I tried adding through chat, and the agent pointed out the terms saying along the lines of "you can only take advantage of one overlapping offer: 2020 3rd Line on Us"
So I went to T-Force and was told that I won't be eligible because I added in November. I'm on Magenta.
So that's why I want to know if it's 100% confirmed. On Sunday, people were mentioning it might not be possible because it's both "2020 3rd Line on Us" and will drop off later.

I am eligible for a free line and am good on devices. But my stepson - with his own TMO military account - needs a new phone and would like the iPhone 12. He has the iPhone 8S to trade in. Buried in this post is someone saying that there is a $540 iPhone rebate at Costco. Is that tied to activation of a new line? If so, I will add my new line at Costco. If it is simply a trade in rebate then I will add the new line myself and get the device separately.
Also, if I add the new line to my account and it is tied to the new iPhone, am I still able to give him the phone? Just trying to figure out how to save the most on the purchase of a new iPhone 12. TMO reduced their trade in amounts just before the new free line promo began so only $300 now for the 8S rather than $415 last week.
Sorry for adding to an already long thread.
TIA
Do these free lines show up as bill credits? If not, it looks like I'll need to follow up with them if I get charged in the next bill...
"Thank you for taking the time to reach out! We are definitely here and ready to help out with any information you need on that promo! Since you are already on a Promo plan as is it would not unfortunately qualify for the add a line promo. I think where the confusion may have been before is that your rate plan is similar to another available at the time but that one didn't have the discounts built in that you do. Unfortunately, your plan would not qualify for this offer. However, if you want we can look at getting you set up on a plan that would! I would be happy to make that happen."
This is the same reason all the free line promos they offered this year didn't work with our plan.
The guy knows this free line very well ,he told me there is no BYOD promotion this time so I do not need get the rebate paperwork to sign.
The paper shows "Line on US 4".
I have not checked my t-mobile account yet.
I also had old T-Mobile SIM cards so the rep activated the new free line on an existing SIM card. I didn't have to pay the extra SIM card and activation fee then.
The only part which didn't work was to move my prepaid T-Mobile Connect number over to the free line as it needs to be a new line or ported in from a different provider. Probably to shine on their internal KPI adding new lines.

T-Mo is incredibly inconsistent in what they allow and who gets what deals. They are the very definition of YMMV.
Other companies have uniform policies and pricing plans, but T-Mo is loophole and "special deal" city where some people get killer deals, other people get mediocre deals, and other people get no deals. I've always preferred companies who treat everyone equally rather than hearing that the previous customer and the next customer got great deals, but the spinning wheel of chance didn't land on the right number/rep for me. Most people would get mad and stop dealing with such a YMMV company like that, but many keep jumping on the bandwagon hoping the wheel of chance we'll favor them. It rarely favors me.
T-Mo reminds me a lot of Willy Wonka saying "YOU GET NOTHING. You lose! Good day, sir!"
