Looks like RAM can be upgraded to 32GB, but with only 2 slots on the motherboard you'd have to ditch the single 8GB stick and buy two 16GB sticks. I found a pdf of this pc's specs and it said there's 2 m.2 ports, but both are occupied - presumably by the SSD and wifi card. It also claims 1 PCI-E x16 and 1 PCI-E x1 slots as available, so you might be able to pick up a pci-e x4 to m.2 adapter card for additional storage
Ick, only a 180 watt PSU. If you're planning on buying this with the intention to add a discrete graphics card later, better check the the motherboard PSU pinout to make sure it can be upgraded before the return window closes.
3700x are still expensive because 5000 series is hard to get. Really you're paying $150 for the rest of the pc which isn't absurd but it's pretty limited upgrade wise. If this were 4 ram slots I'd jump on this but I got to think now.

Ugh... I didn't want an HP, but this one ticks off pretty much all of my other boxes.

Anyone know how easy it'd be to slap in an HDD as a secondary and upgrade the RAM?

I don't know much about upgradability of HP desktops.

this have a pci gpu or no?
This is a G series processor and in the label it says Vega. Meaning it has iGPU. So to answer your question, no it doesn't.

Unlikely that you can move it to a standard case. The motherboard is listed as a custom size, probably with custom placement for the standoffs as well.

The CPU is very powerful. As long as there is a way to upgrade (although limited), I might bite on it. Memory, can get 2x16G at a little more than $100, so ditch the 8g and put 1x16. Video, there is pcie-16 so later can get a decent video card, along with a bigger PS (hopefully the custom case can hold standard sized PS). SSD, just 1 M2 for SSD and I don't see anywhere mentioning SATA interface. I do prefer to leave the system drive and add another bigger ssd/hd for data. If this guy does not even have a place to put SATA HD, it's a deal breaker for me

This would be a good PC for a beginner gaming that would play games like Roblox, Minecraft or even Fornite. Once you want to ramp up the graphic settings on these games or other. AAA titles like GTA V, Forza, Witcher, Crysis etc. is where you will
notice the drop off with the visual bells and whistles because you will have to bring the monitor resolution and game resolution down to compensate. A dedicated GPU not integrated would be ideal, but again it depends on what "games" would be played. Good luck!

Easily just not for gaming.

If you're just using it as a Plex server, this will perform great (it's a lot more powerful than needed).
