I hung a couple of these up in the garage to overwinter about a dozen or so of my chile plants with. I'm not sure how good they'd be for any kind of robust growth, but they worked just fine out of the box and have held up in some relatively cold conditions out there.

Based on reviews, the true draw seems to be ~36 watts. Though it's very common for these sort of lights to be marketed with inflated wattages. Seems like a so-so deal for a low power light.

No.

Without being too technical the light intensity that plant sees isn't strong enough. You need different color temps (spectrums) at different times of plant stage.

This is the equivalent of those crappy tools people give to people when they buy a home for the first time. "Mom saw this tool on an infomercial and it can do 100 things". But those 100 things are useless and the tool is very ineffective.

You would be better off buying different led bulbs and using them through plant stages.

if you want to upgrade an not pay a lot.

Looking through price history on SD, past best price was about $19.5, so deal is not great.

Hey did your chili plants ever flower?

I'm growing chili plants, in a corner of the living room, and I cannot get a single flower out of them.

I have two grow lights, I can say the light helps it grow for sure, but no flowers.

In short one pot has 3 plants, all grew tall (about 2 feet). Leaves are healthy and about a few inches apart.

Second batch has two plants (one pot per plant). Since they don't have to fight for nutrients, they grew large leaves but only like 6 inches in height.

Are they too "healthy"? I have a feeling these plants are relaxed and have no desire to flower!

I'm no expert but I do know that there are several reasons that your plants may not be flowering. If the plants are otherwise healthy, it may be that they need UV light that your grow lights are not providing. Producing "fruit" indoors is not trivial, unfortunately.

I'm not a fan of marijuana, but I'm glad it's getting people in the market for growing plants indoors because sometimes I want to grow plants indoors.

Sorry for the late response. Under these lights, they don't. But that's by design as I only want to overwinter them-- basically stagnate their growth while keeping them alive until Spring. These lights seem to give them strictly what they need and not much more.

I've got more powerful 240W quantum boards for the plants I want to get to fruiting. A pro-tip is to use alibaba if you want to buy good LEDs. US companies just import them and rebrand them anyway. I'm big on buying US when you can, but not when they just import and shamelessly mark things up, essentially producing nothing. Do some reddit diving for more info on looking for lights through alibaba.

Best of luck with your grows.

By all means I was not expecting any miracles using the indoor lamps. I am also wintering them until spring. I was just hoping by chance they will flower while indoors. Alright thanks for the alibaba tip. I def will check out some sub-reds on Reddit for some deep diving.

stay warm and safe.

And then burn them?

BTW I think it's still illegal to grow at home in all 50 states. Pot heads, feel free to correct me.
