Does it mop too? Interested for my next one. I got the s5 max for a great deal but may try the Wyze next.
no, no mopping. original xiaomi was just a vacuum. hence my statement this is not equivalent to this unit, but on the topic of it, since i just got it, i thought i'd share
the s5 max is still going for $439 w/ coupon on amazon so for those who are looking for mopping, there's your option. Does a great job at mopping with the same 2000 pa.
Now if the S6 maxV goes on sale for anywhere near $440... that would be a smoking deal!
So FWIW, we bought one of these on Black Friday and thought Id offer up my review. We've never before had a robot vac and we own a 2,300SF ranch home (with finished basement).
MAPPING/NAVIGATION
Im continually impressed by this. The initial mapping takes a few hours as it meanders around your home but post-initial setup, the navigation is extremely impressive - it's very well dialed in. Ive never once had it get stuck due to a navigation issue. We have it setup to clean our bedrooms every morning at 930am and the balance of our home at 930pm. I did have it setup our basement map as well and having it run down there is as easy as carrying it down the steps and telling it to go after you select the appropriate map in the app. It just works.
VACUUMING
It does a very good job vacuuming - especially if you do not view it as a replacement to a nice upright vac. We no longer run the upright vacuum 1-2x week as "Sweepy" really extends that need out substantially. It does struggle on long-fiber area rugs but conventional carpet is no issue whatsoever. I do wish it would alternate the vacuuming pattern within a room as I think it'd help pickup things the next time that it may have missed. It always runs the **exact** same route and I think that'd be a benefit for thoroughness if it'd run perpendicular the next time. Im very pleased with the vacuuming portion.
MOPPING
This is a big meh. Do not buy this unit **just** for the mopping skill. I think this is pretty well known but without constant pressure on the pad, it's very streaky. The best way to "cheat" better coverage is by putting cleaner on the floor ahead of the vacuum but if a cycle takes a long time, that cleaner very well may dry up and spot your floor before the vacuum gets to it. If you want to mop, get another model. If you want to supplement your vacuuming, this is a no-brainer.
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS
Im very pleased with it. I was hoping the mopping feature would be *a bit* better than it is, but that'd really be the cherry on top for me. Im otherwise very happy and I did not buy the vacuum for the mopping feature. With two young kids and a dog, the routine of vacuuming every single day keeps our house looking respectable day in and day out. A side benefit of owning one with a set schedule - it forces you to keep your house picked up to some degree - which is nice in and of itself. Every night I just do a quick run-through our home to pre-Sweepy.
If I were to rate it, Id give it 4/5. If I had my preference, I think Id rather just have a larger collection bin and no mopping **or** pony up for one with a better mop feature. Im very happy with the purchase and would absolutely recommend it to prospective buyers.

I got my $199 wyze vacuum. It looks and feels almost identical to the original xiaomi vacuum which still goes for $200plus.
Yet to try it out yet, but seems almost identical with some improvements to the parts
