It's normal. Have you ever used a power tool before?
Good to know thanks! None of my ~10yr old bosch 12v or 18v does that so it was the first thing that really stood out. Wanted(sd impulse buy lol) to refresh the tools but I guess if it's not broken, I probably shouldn't try to fix it.
Got mine today. Obviously the $49 price was killer, but the bag it comes with is awesome and two batteries is crazy. Oh yeah and there's an actual tool with a charger too. This deal feels even slicker now that I have the kit in hand. Thanks for feeding my m12 addiction with a tool I never thought I would buy. You are awesome, OP.
My order was delivered today and noticed that the model is 2401-20 instead of 2401-22. Anyone received 2401-20 model as well?
The tool is 2401-20 but the kit is 2401-22 the 2 at the end is how many batteries it comes with. Did you get batteries and charger? If not you need to check that you ordered the right kit

Yes, I received two batteries and the charger. Thanks for clarifying to me.
Mone just arrived about an hour ago box looked great bag it comes with looks good works great. Somehow has a scuff on the top head of the drill tho. Great deal overall.
Mine was very brand new looking, but did find that inside the area where the shank of a drill bit would sit, it was scuffed up in there. Don't mind it one bit but was just a head scratcher to me
Got mines a few days ago based on "buy now and think later" impulse, but returned it the next. I didn't realize that this was the older, single speed model. Looks like HD is just trying to clear up old inventory.

I've only opened one of the two drivers i bought from this deal.. makes the same shrill whine. My Bosch including ps31 screwdriver do not do this neither do my various voltage all kinds of tools - Dewalt, Hitachi, Makita old ryobi I have no new ryobi, craftsman, skil I'm probably forgetting some.
I have Bosch, ryobi, skil small rechargeable screwdrivers as well as a couple craftsman that are the long cylinder kind that pivot...none make this noise
That said seems fine if annoying until moving price for what it is is amazing.
edit; oh my "screwdriver" Bosch mentioned may be a drill .... I use only as a screwdriver though... save every power screwdriver I have had going back to the ones from somewhere around 30yrs ago I have used to drill...slowly... every once in a while

I think you're looking for 2406. They actually have 4 m12 screwdriver models plus the installation driver. There was actually a differently designed 2401 before this one. for some reason they reused the model number.

I feel the same. At $50, I still might keep it though, or gift it... honestly, this should be regular price. I have a flexiclick that puts this to shame.
Used this for the first time yesterday. It's pretty great for what it is.
You can set it on the lowest setting and it's very little torque. Will be great for assembling toys for the kids and stuff around the house. You can also twist up the torque and it drives screws very well. Used it to mount an electrical box into 2x4 stud with no pilot hole it drove the screw easily.

For what it's worth, usually the higher that last digit goes, the more comes with the kit. That's why 0 is usually "tool only"
