YMMV deal. In RDU area they had hundreds in Apex store and none in Durham store.

Link is for reference only. This is the set for sale though.

Price dropped by another $10 down to $35. At that price it's an excellent deal for an excellent set of knives.

You can chat with costco.com support or call into a store and have them do an inventory check in your area

Bought this exact set a couple months ago at this price. If you need a set I would highly recommend. You really can't go wrong with Costco products on top of their return policy, if you find they're not for you.

Wondering the same, since I think the Costcos here have them and have been this price since Xmas or so... Unless it's a different brand.

I thought the exact same thing. I bought a set in Houston area that were called Sabatier and look almost exactly the same for $25. I even had to check. Apparently they are a different company but on those they are very nice knives and SUPER sharp. I even cut myself badly the first time washing one (obviously user error as I am not used to knives this sharp).

Made in China using German stainless steel if you believe what they have to say.

I kind of agree, they look nice but I don't think they serve any purpose.
I wish they were Henckels or Wusthof. They seem to last forever.

Yeah, it's weird because at my Costco they had these side by side and it turned me off from buying either because they basically look exactly the same. The cheaper ones might have even come with a sharpener cover for each knife.

Why would they move steel from Germany to China, land of low-cost steel? Not buying it. Yeah I get why you'd not want Chinese steel, but not buying it.

I like this set. At $9 per knife I removed all my older knives into a storage bin and only kept my old chefs knife in a drawer as a spare in case someone ever wants to join me in the kitchen (spoiler: no one usually doesSmilie.

I think they are an upgrade for me, but I've been using the same set for the last decade.
