Don't buy, it has a plastic lid.

My entire family was killed by the toxic chemicals leaching into this kettle. I don't drink tea; so I was the only survivor.

I know these are safe but glass always looks scary especially when it contains boiling water.

We've been using glass kettles for years now... Never had a problem/concern with glass and boiling water

Really? How do you know? What about the strainer part?..."Hello, thanks for reaching out. The lid is plastic. The kettle is glass and plastic. Heating element is aluminum. Hope this helps. Have a great day. The BELLA Team."

I think the primary concern for plastic would be if water was being held by it or sitting in it for a while as it leaches particles. However having the strainer as the only plastic part that touches you could remove it, not use it, or not care for the few seconds it touches. More plastic is leached by other products than this one piece.

I used a kettle that looked exactly like this in my last office (different brand but identical appearance), there's not really much to it... the carafe is all glass so I don't know why you would have water touching plastic unless you got super aggressive with pouring and it might briefly touch the lid (edit: looking at more pics, this might have a plastic strainer at the spout, it could either be removed or just pour with the lid open)

The only downside was that the socket where the base connected had a metal clip piece that held the plug/receptacle parts together when you plugged it in, which eventually became weaker (think of like an old outlet which has lost retention) and didn't connect properly without some strategic jiggling every time. Fixing it requires a teardown of the base to either push it back in place or replace the clip. I will say it took over a year of being used in an office setting multiple times a day for it to exhibit this problem, it probably wouldn't happen in a normal home-use situation.

Thank you. I could tell about strainer was planning to cut or remove. But if other water touching parts are plastic I'll return.
