Sounds like a continuation from Christmas sales.

I picked this up and have been using for about a month. While I have not seen any video issues, I occasionally get a lag of ~10 sec before the audio kicks on when watching specific content. I have experienced a few other things such as specific settings not saving and sound mixing with my center does not always sound perfect. Thick could be blamed in the content though.

Since owning it, I have received 2 firmware updates labeled as 'bug fixes' so at least they are trying to do the right thing.

Sometimes I think this sounds very warm and satisfying... Other times I miss my 11 yr old Onkyo.

Over, my satisfaction is about 7/10.

Is it worth $330? Given what else is out there, yeah. But just keep in mind it may take Yamaha some time to fix what should not have been released as broken.
I purchased at my local Costco for the same price back in Nov. The Yamaha AVR runs at least 6-8 hours everyday in our household with no issues whatsoever.

Yamaha TSR-700 AVR (currently on firmware 1.26)
LG CX 65" OLED (currently on firmware 3.21.09)
Xfinity XG1v4 4K STB
Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player
Zeskit 8K high speed HDMI cables all the way around

Definitive Technology ProSub 800
Klipsch Quintet SL 5.0 Speakers

Logitech Harmony One Remote
I hope I don't jinx things, but I've owned this receiver for almost 2 months now with zero issues. With all the negative issues with hdmi arc and 4k etc I thought I was rolling the dice. Nope, it's been running great.

I did buy a few new hdmi cables just in case lol

Had to return mine because of too many issues. Any idea if the Denon AVR-S750H will be back on sale on 1/17 as well? Want to try another brand.

Only the Yamaha. Couple more tv's listed in the other thread. The 12" Klipsch Sub is $60 off. A couple of sounders, and a few fridges.

I've had the same exact problem. Also for those running atmos, this receiver is pretty picky. On the native app netflix shows atmos but vudu doesn't. Strange, but I agree they are trying to fix things via firmware.

matches the price they had last month. Great deal on a dolby atmos receiver, but as with most 2.1 hdmi ports, there are known issues with the chips used in this Yamaha. There are work-arounds, but its something to consider when purchasing.

I tried the new denon and yamaha (higher end than this) and sent them both back for various issues with either poor sound or awful menu/level adjustment restrictions but ultimately the known 4k/120 hardware issue in both. My Yamaha 1900 sounded better than both anyway. I'm running all video to my LG and sending optical out to my Yamaha and its the best solution by far. I lose a few sound modes, but I only have/want 5.1 anyway. Unless you are desperate for a new receiver, I'd highly recommend waiting until the new chipsets are out and the manufacturers have a plan. Denon won't even tell you what they will do for you once the chipsets are out... they wouldn't even promise me that it would be swapped/fixed for no cost nor could they tell me if they would ship a replacement ahead or if i would have to ship and wait. Imagine if its the latter? Thousands of people sending in their receivers and waiting for months with nothing.

Sound is actually really good from this receiver, but you'll need to EQ the sub.

I was looking at this and the Denon 750 and in the end got a Denon x2700 refurb with 3 yr warranty for $749
Same 8k output but I'm not a gamer so the pass through isn't a concern for me
Just wanted Atmos and music tech more than anything

I only took the picture and put it down on the stack, don't like taking things I'm just going to throw away. There is a thread on the LG OLED's in the ad, there may be a link there.

I have the Yamaha, I really hate that it's an on screen menu only. Can't make major adjustments using the LCD on the unit. I have to turn the TV on and to the specific input

I have the older 7850. This is not reading to be much of an upgrade, correct?
