This sort of reminds me of 29 cent hamburgers and 39 cent cheeseburgers on Tuesdays and Thursdays back in the 90's. Good times.
I wish today was Sunday, so I could get a cheeseburger for... 39 cents, at McDonald's baby!
Hmmm, so locally 15¢ for a small or 0¢ everyday for a medium?
laugh out loud

i can only remember as far back as buying a ticket on the spot, right before you boarded. paid for it with travelers' cheques. entire family could go with you all the way up to the airplane door; no IDs. braniff, twa, and eastern airlines.
People's Express advertised the convenience of buying a ticket when the plane was in flight. One could book ahead of time for a seat of course.
They also had one day round trip $99 flights to Bermuda for the day.
Allso as i recall People's ,Others, were offering flights to Florida for $29,-$39 eeach way

the cheeseburger is pretty gross in my opinion. i'd definitely shell out a few more bucks to get a big mac or some nuggets. i feel like it's not about whether a cheeseburger is $1 or .25 but whether i like eating it. anyone here like eating the cheeseburger?

Barf. 🤮 No I don't.

There's also a coupon that gives you a free sandwich with any purchase. I even got the Double Quarter Pounder Deluxe by just buying a $1 drink. It's been a daily deal most or the week. Much better deal than this week's TBT. Just like the discounted small fry was a joke when they've had daily coupons for free large fries.

Where are these coupons you speak of, OB1?

In the app. If you're not seeing them, even I have no idea. I thought the coupons were national.

I've also had a free Egg McMuffin with a $1 purchase as a daily deal for a couple of weeks, now. Finally figured out I can get a $1 sausage biscuit and make a Sausage Egg McMuffin for $1, then get some jelly for the biscuit as a side. Smilie. Or you can just get a $1 drink if you only want the sandwich. I've been getting a hash brown, but they've gotten way too expensive. McDonalds near my work is $1.69. Since they had the Sausage Biscuit & Hash Brown or Sausage McMuffin & Hash Brown for $2 deal, it only made sense to just add 31 cents. But that's when I realized the sausage biscuit was still only $1, which made me think of that combo for the coupon.

Most of the app coupons are local, there's stores even in the same town that can have different offers.

80s was the best. I can prove it:
One was able to show up at an airport without a booking, 15 minutes before a Flight would depart (People's Express), walk onto the plane, plane would take off, IN THE AIR, a stewardess would come around and ask for IDs and payment for the flight. One time i just had a expired college library card without a photo. they accepted that ID
Before one walked on the plane, they would take your name and addrress, but did not cjeck IDs at that point. Also, you did not need a ticket to get on the plane. You bought a ticket when the plane was in route

The total lack of security of air travel led to the copious amounts of transportation of heroin, cocaine, and weapons, not to mention human trafficking, but yeah, it was easy for people to go on vacation. Perception is everything. The free-for-all, Wild West attitude is great until someone realizes it is a great opportunity to do something sinister, which is human nature. Everyone's looking for a way to take advantage of poorly designed systems.

Before getting on these flights in the 1980s, people still had to go though airport security XRAYS points to get to the area of the plane floors.
So yes, one could be on a flight to ID and pay for the ticket but they had to go though the airport contraband check point

I don't really remember People Express, probably not in my part of the country. But I remember Midway Airlines and they routinely had a bunch of $29 deals especially from Chicago. I never realized what expensive flying meant until I moved to Minneapolis where nothing was cheap.

We have lots of McDonalds all owned by different people made obvious but the different prices and even in-store promotions. But these coupons work for all of them. There are stipulations that the restaurant must participate, as there are some franchisees that don't want to deal with them. But, I guess it could be regional.

The deals section offers can be local, regional and national as well. As others here mentioned, we don't see some of the deals you mentioned.

I love McDonalds and used the app lots for deals until the new version of the app requires precise location services to be turned on to receive any of the deals. The app shows me at zero miles from the restaurant because I am in their parking lot but forces you to give the app access to your precise location settings on your phone. The Burger King app and Wendys app does not require precise location to be turned on to get their deals. Why is McDonalds demanding this? Is McDonalds able to harvest and sell your data this way? Will there be a class action suite against McDonalds for not offering the deals equally to everyone?

I'm confused on the issue you're having. Do you have to be at the location to see the deals? I've never had that issue. They do want your location so it knows when you are there. It's always been that way since the app came out. They could let you just got a check-in button, but it's all to make sure you are really at the correct location. I did accidentally have the wrong restaurant selected one time, but it saw I was at the wrong restaurant and let me change it. No way to do that with other apps. Had that issue when I thought I had the Taco Bell near my work selected, but it sent it to the one near my house. I had no way of changing it. With that said, though, I have had issues where my GPS must have been off and it would keep saying I wasn't at the restaurant.
