You open the window and close it on the AC unit. It also has a platform it rests on

I drilled no holes and the thing can't go anywhere. It's easier than any other AC I've used and I have zero fears of dropping it out the window

Honestly confused why anyone thinks this is difficult to install especially compared to conventional styles. And especially considering how much smaller and lighter this type is
When are they coming out with a U-shaped AC with heat pump?
opposite experience. ours cooled better than anything we had prior. and we left it installed for 2 winters now. living in the northeast.. the u shape version makes that possible.

not sure what would make it a pain to uninstall though. the install for us was 10x easier than a traditional ac since it has a built in stand.

Looks like the window Air conditioner unit will be on the next coupon book. I may buy one now and just ask for a price adjustment unless anyone has had trouble in the past asking for a refund?

I think they adjust the price within 30 days or is it 90 days? I can't remember. But the funny thing is you could always threaten to return/rebuy....

Bought one in 2021. Last summer some of the insulation foam got sucked into the fan blade. I replaced the blade myself as it broke. I replaced the insulation and strapped it down with zip ties. Still working fine this year.

This is what I'm waiting for too! Any idea if they're actually making one?

This has been working great for me as the days get hotter. We have the smaller 8000 one in the bedroom as well. Life and energy saver.

bought one of these last year. DIdn't cool that good compared to regular ac's. plus installing/removing is a pain ( have to remove because I'm in the northeast. Luckily I got refunded by manufacturer. This year I'm trying the same AC but not U shaped to see if it will make a difference.
I would think it was easier, not harder to install? My regular shaped one barely fits in the window, I have to prop up the window when I struggle to fit it in, big gaps to fill etc.

They actually have one but yet to see one on sale. Being that I live in SW florida I would barely ever use it!
Well actually after looking its not in the U shape FYI

The bracket to drill in and hold the AC is a lot more involving than just opening window and fitting a regular AC in.

You must have a pretty big flat platform to rest the big back on..
