For reference, this exact card was $849.99 at my local MC in December. Now did i grab one? Of course not but it should tell u the tarriff impact / TD markup and whatever else. You would still be cheaper buying a card and block separately but given the current state of things, i would grab whatever is in stock which would be this one.
nah doubtful.
if you want one of these cards, your best bet BY FAR is to camp out at your local Microcenter. that and grabbing a MC credit card for 5% off. If you dont have a local MC, then well hate it say it but you are basically screwed until they replenish stock and even then, it wont solve the high msrp issue until these tarriffs are repealed if ever
Believe me I wish I had a microcenter. I had to buy that HP deal for the whole desktop because I could never time any of the other store restocks. I don't think the 3080 they put in it is the best but my goal is probably to upgrade to the 3080ti or whatever they call the higher vram model that they hopefully release in the next year.

agreed i think buying a prebuilt with the card that you want is probably your best bet without a MC nearby especially since all these prebuilts are probably still carrying "pre tariff" pricing at least for now until stock dries out. Last time i was at MC, the pricing on their cards was still before tarrifs but i expect that to change very soon if it hasnt already so yeah i would have done the same and buying a prebuilt. the 3080 ti was postponed for now and likely wont be around until 3080 non ti stock comes back to normal which yeah should happen this year at some point
Last 2 sold on eBay this month went for $1550 and $1600 respectively. It's hard to beat the bots and will probably be like this for months more. I bought the first computer with a 3080 posted here that was still in stock during checkout. This is sick deal if you got it.
And here I thought the $750 Asus TUF OC was pricey that I settled for. I wanted either a FE or non-OC TUF which both sold for MSRP. Honestly, I don't think the non-OC version ever existed except for the single day that it launched and sold out. Even if the tariffs are lifted I think these inflated prices are here to stay.

The non-OC TUF is/was out there. I grabbed one from Newegg but had to get it in a combo deal with a motherboard I don't want or need and can't return separately. Sneaky way for Newegg to dump a bunch of products that otherwise wouldn't sell as quickly.
Anybody know if microcenter stick check online can be trusted for these cards? Nearest microcenter is 2 hours away and would hate to waste a trip.. to be clear it's saying none in stock not that they have them

MC website's inventory for these items is not very accurate. If you have a MC you want to check out, I recommend getting in the unofficial MC discord channel (you should be able to find a link on reddit). There you will get the most info about your own store, when they usually stock, etc. The 3000 series nvidia and 6000 series AMD cards almost always sell out within 2 hours when they come in. You'll have to line up before the store opens most likely.

Tarif prob brings this to 1k alone. Markup probably isnt that much tbh.
