Basically the same thing for $8:

If you need something more stable and more adjustable, and don't care about portability, then this stand from 3M is the gold standard (I've had it for 10+ years):

Reviews indicate it's not very sturdy and doesn't hold if used for traveling. Anyone have another one they would recommend?

Does the 3M ever sell for less than 30?

I have two of these. One for work and one for my personal laptop. They work great and I enjoy the flexibility they give to adjust to various heights. Only grip is that the bottom prongs that holds up the laptop may cause the laptop to pop or fall out of the groove if I accidentally hit the laptop when the stand is at a high level. Would help if these two bottom prongs were longer.

Brought this when it was $10 also. Pretty good build and the various angles are adequate. Holds up my X1 carbon during weekdays for work and the Gateway 15in gaming laptop on the weekends. Actually really like it.

I bought one a week ago. Very nice for traveling: adjustable and solid aluminum build.

Wonder why the most recent reviews are far below their average ratings?

I use this style for my laptop:

Many copy holders work equally well.

My wife bought one and is using it for a 17" laptop. It lets her raise the laptop screen to be inline with her other 2 monitors. She likes it a lot.

Not bad. Have an old laptop. Helped with the heat more than anything I have tried.

Gshine for $9.99 the other day. Different 'brand'. The pegs that hold the angled stand up don't stay in place well. Just junk. (yes I bought)
