Whether or not VRR comes later via FW update is questionable. I am hopeful but wouldn't buy this if VRR is a hard requirement for you.
If you bump your budget up a bit you can get a really nice TCL 6 mini-led QLED for $1399 which will be a massive upgrade over either set and will actually do true HDR if you watch movies or play games

This tv:
I read that Freesync works,
good to have for me
I see firmware updates explicitly mentioning AMD card improvements
it has hdmi 2.1, AND supports all res signals from 1080p to 4k @ 120hz AND can actually display them (harder trick than most think) without dropping frames...and at 5.2ms latency..
I'll take my chances at this price point and manufacturer who makes arguably the best tv's in the biz ...

My 850E has good motion handling / 120hz native and no other gaming or special features and whether im playing 4k @ 30 or 60p or 1080/1440p the gameplay is butter smooth and crisp with high level of detail. Gears 5 and the like look and play amazing
I suspect this tv will be the series x / ps5 gameplay equivalent and at this price & size im in...
Oled when its $1500 or less for 75" or bigger, otherwise not unhappy enough with my cheap 120hz 4k hisense or sony or my old 60' plasma to want anything that much more expensive
9.2.4 Atmos helps bring it all together, thats where i would recommend spending more ... real surround/atoms paired with a good fast response time / hi refresh rate tv that has no major glaring weknesses vs soend a ton on the current best tv and use built in audio or soundbar (if u have to choose...)
You might consider upgrading your router. I had similar issues with random WIFI devices (TV, lights, etc) dropping connection for no apparent reason. I looked at the number of devices I expected my router to juggle and realized I was overloading the router's ability to maintain all of those connections. I upgraded the router, and no problems maintaining all connections since then.
