I have the 82UN8570 which is the VA panel in this lineup and am very happy with it (VA = much better blacks / worse viewing angle). Despite the firmware release notes mentioning FreeSync however my Xbox Series X does not detect the TV as VRR capable. I expect the 75UN8570 model will be the same.

Whether or not VRR comes later via FW update is questionable. I am hopeful but wouldn't buy this if VRR is a hard requirement for you.

Any recommendations at 1k price point? I have dish so a lot of channels are bad quality, and I watch a lot sports that are streaming on dish but that's it, I know very little about TVs thanks
The LG IPS tvs do have fairly good motion handling, but it comes at the cost of poor overall picture quality. TCL 4 Series is a good sub $1k tv for $699 which will have better picture than this LG and still decent motion handling.
If you bump your budget up a bit you can get a really nice TCL 6 mini-led QLED for $1399 which will be a massive upgrade over either set and will actually do true HDR if you watch movies or play games

bold statement
Not really ... trusting vizio is Bold...all that gaming engine advertsing and havent seen many models that actually just work ...

This tv:
I read that Freesync works,
good to have for me

I see firmware updates explicitly mentioning AMD card improvements

it has hdmi 2.1, AND supports all res signals from 1080p to 4k @ 120hz AND can actually display them (harder trick than most think) without dropping frames...and at 5.2ms latency..

I'll take my chances at this price point and manufacturer who makes arguably the best tv's in the biz ...

You can't put a price on a wife. She's a best friend for life.

Does TCL usually have any good discounts? I was eying the 6 series 75" TCL but its $500 more in price. I wonder if it will drop to sub $1000 pricing ever?

Agreed. I dont have it now and my xbox one x or ps4 never make me feel like im missing out

My 850E has good motion handling / 120hz native and no other gaming or special features and whether im playing 4k @ 30 or 60p or 1080/1440p the gameplay is butter smooth and crisp with high level of detail. Gears 5 and the like look and play amazing

I suspect this tv will be the series x / ps5 gameplay equivalent and at this price & size im in...

Oled when its $1500 or less for 75" or bigger, otherwise not unhappy enough with my cheap 120hz 4k hisense or sony or my old 60' plasma to want anything that much more expensive

9.2.4 Atmos helps bring it all together, thats where i would recommend spending more ... real surround/atoms paired with a good fast response time / hi refresh rate tv that has no major glaring weknesses vs soend a ton on the current best tv and use built in audio or soundbar (if u have to choose...)

Hmmm. Now or wait for super bowl to see if any better deals come up?!?
It says that it's a game day sale so I don't think I'd count on pricing getting any better

Dang just got the Samsung q80t 65 for around 1000 should I cancel and get this
I wouldn't compare UHD screen with QLED screen.

I bought this model this pass summer when it went on sale, just to let you know, it is really nice. Only complain is the wifi card, not great. cuts off whenever it feels like it. I had trouble shoot it with everything you can find on the internet, still does it today. Annoying as heck. Chromecast attached to it has no problem casting all day long. Overall, a good buy. And the wife, just get it, once she sees the size and gets use to it, she will love it. ;P

You might consider upgrading your router. I had similar issues with random WIFI devices (TV, lights, etc) dropping connection for no apparent reason. I looked at the number of devices I expected my router to juggle and realized I was overloading the router's ability to maintain all of those connections. I upgraded the router, and no problems maintaining all connections since then.

This was $849 during BF and I didn't pull the trigger. Might do it now.
IPS panel.... no good for movies.... doesn't show blacks, lots of bleed.... this is a daylight only tv yet it doesn't get very bright... at this price, I give it a Slickdeal value of 2
