240hz so you might be able to drive some games to the proper fps? perhaps that's the logic

We have some 4K displays on 17" laptops at work and wow, what a waste.

I could maybe see 1440p, but anything above that on a 15.6" screen is overkill, IMO.

I'd assume if you want to go high-res, you'd use the Display Port.

I mean, why? I know they said they were going to try keeping the main gaming line on the 10k series, but.. I couldn't see this being better than a similarly spec'd AMD 4800hs or whatever the name is.

Might as well wait until things are in stock, maybe wait even for ddr5, and build your own PC

1440p is the sweet spot in my opinion. 1440p 144hz G-Sync 350nit IPS display. *Muaaah-Kiss noise*

Why minidisplay port. Kind of a waste IMO. Should be type c or thunderbolt if this is using intel cpu.

I agree, I almost pre-ordered this until I saw that there was no TB port. I went back to look at the previous Aorus 15s and they appear to have TB. Such a strange omission from this one...

I doubt it. They didn't mention it anywhere except the aorus 17G. Probably they reserve it for the 17 inch model.

No, the 15g has the mechanical keyboard. Check their site https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Lapto...0th-Gen#kf

That's old model. The 2021 15g model with rtx 3000 series doesn't.

I like how they hide the fact that its a Max-Q version of the gpu by putting it in the description and not in the name of the laptop so you assume its a Max-P gpu at quick glance

This is absolutely the logic. Plus 4k screens decrease battery life. I must admit I've never gamed on a 4k 17" laptop, but I'd be interested to hear some opinions on whether there's an appreciable difference over 1080p.
