I mean, why? I know they said they were going to try keeping the main gaming line on the 10k series, but.. I couldn't see this being better than a similarly spec'd AMD 4800hs or whatever the name is.
Why minidisplay port. Kind of a waste IMO. Should be type c or thunderbolt if this is using intel cpu.
I agree, I almost pre-ordered this until I saw that there was no TB port. I went back to look at the previous Aorus 15s and they appear to have TB. Such a strange omission from this one...
I like how they hide the fact that its a Max-Q version of the gpu by putting it in the description and not in the name of the laptop so you assume its a Max-P gpu at quick glance

240hz so you might be able to drive some games to the proper fps? perhaps that's the logic
This is absolutely the logic. Plus 4k screens decrease battery life. I must admit I've never gamed on a 4k 17" laptop, but I'd be interested to hear some opinions on whether there's an appreciable difference over 1080p.

I could maybe see 1440p, but anything above that on a 15.6" screen is overkill, IMO.
I'd assume if you want to go high-res, you'd use the Display Port.
