Sketchy drive with several progressively worse versions. On the other hand, this is TLC at QLC prices. https://www.tomshardware.com/news...ping-parts

Today the 16th is literally the last day I have to return 3 of these.
But the BestBuy website says not eligible for pricematch. Are they really going to make me return and rebuy to get the lower price or is there a better way?

I bought in early November and late November, and all were the better older versions

Holy cow thanks for this, I thought Kingston incident was enough but I guess they figured after w years we forgot about it and they are right. I didn't consider other companies would pull same shenagiangs again.

Judging by the reviews on Amazon of the people who purchased around Black Friday, it is really hit or miss. It could also vary by 2TB or 1TB versions. At $200, this is not bad regardless of version; it's just not 970 evo good or that slick of a deal for the slow version.

Not going to trust a company with a track record of lying to its customers and bait-and-switching. ADATA is dead to me.

How big is the difference? The older version was like the HP EX950 iirc? New version is........? Thanks.

Adata has been steadily building it's brand in US for the past several years, I'm surprised they would downspec a flagship product.

significant enough to draw much criticism and no longer is considered a flagship product, or the same product altogether

they literally switched out every single part and kept the name

and they did it right before the holiday season.

Taking the risk. Several recent reviews say they received the older model. 50/50 shot. Though last time I did that, I lost, lol. We will see.
