"Holiday Shipping Update: Our carriers are experiencing some delays, but most orders will arrive by the time shown in checkout. Additionally, increased costs due to COVID-19 have required us to add a $0.99 fee to all orders."
However, with the free shipping, this is an OK deal. As to the 99 cent covid tax, it is sort of nonsense. They could have achieved the same thing by making the shipping 99 cents and no one would have complained but they choose to go the route of taxing people for something that should not be taxed, which is always going to set people off.

Right? I feel like it's a little unlawful to add a fee just in the name of the pandemic. I get it that these times have caused various issues over various industries but to have a separate fee rather than slightly increase the price because of it is messed up
Agree. And also wouldn't their business probably be increased with so many people at home especially during lockdowns? I'm an essential worker but my friends who were paid to stay home seemed to be doing a lot of stuff like this that they never had time for before. So my vote is their volume of sales is definitely up and not down.

I ordered some last time they were on sale. They are well made and magnets work great on my refrigerator.
As for the other bozo talking about how they're recouping their 'free' offers by doing this? (Sigh)
A few years ago Chicago instituted a .07 charge for each plastic bag. Apparently it was such a travesty their were picketers at several chain stores. Eventually everyone got over it.
Out of spite I'm going to buy magnets on seperate orders so I can pay the .99 surcharge several times.
Shutterfly has used the ludicrous shipping charge model to basically make money off people for years. Free this and cheap that and outrageous shipping charges unless you spend a lot. This offer is sort of the exception in that they do take the shipping charge off. They have never been what you would call a "value" proposition unless of course you are looking to make a decent sized order anyway imo.

Shrimp factory called. Said you are a little unlawful.
