What would be the best option for photographing star alignments or such?

It's gotta be the FE 200-600mm right?

I would go with the 100-400mm with a star tracker (only because I have more use for it compared to the 200-600).

I honestly have no idea, I'm new to this kind of stuff, but I figure someone on here would probably have the answer I'm looking for.

They do it every year, several times a year. Other than edu discount, there really isnt any other discount out there that comes close. Sony doesnt discount for any thing else except edu

Thanks for the suggestion! what benefits would I get from that over the other models?

Wouldn't low light not be as much of an issue if I'm doing long exposure?

You won't get the best photography advice from a deals site. You're looking to drop $1k- $2k+ on gear! Try looking for some videos about the topic, or bouncing your question on a photography forum, and seeing what gear they recommend. Invest some time doing your research, then bring your newfound knowledge back here and make a more informed purchase.

Try green toe. Have tried with 2 recent edu discounts. Put in the same price and got it both times from an authorized dealer.

Another useless EDU discount that 99% people looking at this deal can't use.
Find a friend or relative with an edu email and have them buy it for you? its not rocket science
